About Me

So a bit about me, if you can be bothered enough to read this. I'm Julia and I'm Swiss and Canadian, and after moving around a lot in the past 5 years or so, have decided to make Switzerland my home. I'm a pretty solitary person I guess, but I really enjoy meeting interesting people who I can have good conversations with and don't take themselves too seriously. What I can't stand is superficiality, flaky people who strive purely for material wealth and recognition as their main objective in life, and people who are closed minded and have never left the village they were born in. Oh, also people who talk allll the time, especially about themselves, really drive me insane.Other than that I am fairly easy- and out-going, like to discover foreign things that are new to me, and am pretty interested in photography and technical gadgetry.

*** PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO ADD ME..

If you try to add me just to have another Myspace loser on your "friends" list, please don't bother as I don't add randoms. Unless you're really, undeniably cool and ridiculously good-looking. Which you're probably not. So if I reject you, it's probably cuz you're ugly and I want you to fuck off.

My Interests

Music, Cooking, Traveling, Computers, Internet, Photography, Fashion, Beauty, Design, Literature, Politics, Current Affairs....

I'd like to meet:

YOU! And your mom.

Music:

Basically this was a huge list before with dozens of artists I listen to, but it was kinda outdated so I'll just say that I am a HUGE music lover and I am constantly looking for new artists to check out.
My love especially goes out to nu-jazz, funk, dubstep, minimal, tech house, drum&bass, singer/songwriters, and downtempo. There are simply too many artists and bands to list without sounding pretentious.....

Movies:

Perfume, Born into Brothels, Raise the Red Lantern, Kung Fu Hustle, Suzhou River, Trainspotting, La Haine, Amelie, Irreversible, Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail, Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, War Photographer, Shallow Grave, Bowling for Columbine, The Shining, Clockwork Orange, Osama, Dark Water, The Return....

Television:

The Young Ones, Lost, Pumuckl, Heroes, documentaries, travel shows, cooking shows....

Books:

Albert Camus, Jean Paul Sartre, Herman Hesse, John Stackhouse, Robert D. Kaplan, and historical biographies....

Heroes:

James Nachtwey ....
