It's not about me! It's ALL about HIM!

About Me

PRAYER IS THE BREATH OF THE SOUL
..

..
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson"
MY BIRTH VERSE: Proverbs 4:25 NIV Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.
I'm IN this world but not OF this world. I'm an alien here...this is just my temporary home. I like people...While I'm here, I want to meet all kinds...maybe even YOU. I am on Myspace to lend an ear and a prayer to any of you who don't have someone to talk to about what troubles you. My heart is to help you if I can. Some of you are involved in things that are setting you up for a lifetime of misery and maybe even an early death. I'm not ashamed to tell you about my Savior. God wants you to have peace and joy and it's there for you no matter what circumstances you find yourself in or what you have done or been through. He wants an abundant, fulfilled life for you NOW! You can have it NOW! I know, alot of you glamorize death and think you will die young so you are grabbing for all you can get on this earth...any and all the experiences you can have while you are still young. We are not meant to experience constant turmoil...which is what selfishly "trying everything" will get you! You are not invincible. There IS a hereafter and you will be spending it one of 2 places. God WANTS you to enjoy life...but when you live your life for Him, it can be so much better but with fewer regrets! I have found through experience that you can't really know true happiness and joy until you turn your life over to God! When you understand the love He has for you, you can live a LIFE of love and freely give and receive love. You will be able to take the focus of your existance off of yourself! Your relationships will be transformed! YOU will be transformed! The depth that is missing from your life will be realized! There IS an eternity for all of us after this life is over! This life on earth is just a vapor, a breath compared to eternity. Where will you spend eternity? If you aren't sure...and want to talk about it, let me know. I am not here to judge or condemn you! I don't care who you are, what you are on, what problems you have, your sexual preference or what you look like! It doesn't bother me if you have tatoos, piercings, if you are black, white, green, purple polka dot or any other color! I will try to get to know who you really are; not just the person you want the world to see. I promise to keep whatever we talk about confidential. We may not always agree and I certainly don't have ALL the answers, but I believe I can help you with SOME of your questions about life, love and God, and I can certainly pray for you! What makes me qualified? Just living this long and gaining testimonies through many tests, trials and CHOICES I have made on this road called "life". Most of the drama and unhappiness that we have is brought about because we live our lives according to our OWN will and not our Creator's will...the one who GAVE us life!!! The one who loves you with a never-ending love! Yes, I hope you will give your life over to the One who gave his precious son to save YOU...(He knew you would NEED saving!) but I won't pressure you. It has to come from within. From the knowledge and realization of who you really are...(not who the world says you are) and of who your Father is. Who better to tell you how to live your life than the one who created you and knew you before you were even born!? HE SEES ALOT FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD THAN YOU AND I CAN! I want to meet and help you but, at any rate, your ultimate help can ONLY come from the one who created you in your mother's womb. The one you feel tugging on your heart...Without Him, all we can do is screw up our lives! I'm not perfect AT ALL...but God has given me some experiences and testimonies to use to help people and I want to use them for His glory!
God will bless the nation that serves HIM not the one that serves its own flag.

WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY; WHAT IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet my future daughter-in-law one day... whenever God puts the RIGHT girl in my son's life. I pray that she will love my son but, most of all, that she will LOVE GOD! Oh...and I pray she loves and wants kids too!

Music:

I really like a variety of music, depending on my mood! I don't understand why people listen to sick songs with explicit lyrics. What's the point in that? That is not what God created music for! I LOVE Christmas music! My hubby plays the 7-string bass and sings. He is better than just "good"! You would just have to hear him sometime to believe it! Local bands like Breadline and The Uglysuit. I enjoy Jennifer Knapp, Cindy Morgan, The Fray, Bebo Norman, Barlow Girl, The Kry, Gary Chapman, Matt Redmond, Ginny Owens, Kutless, Todd Agnew, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Creed, Leeland, Daughtry, The David Crowder Band, Wavorly....lots of other contemporary Christian music. Colbie Callait is good!I like classic soft rock of the 60's and 70's and some of the hard stuff from that era as well. Creedence, Three Dog Night, Graham Nash, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Jackson Brown, Judy Collins, Carly Simon, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell...to name just a few. I like some of the Celtic music. I really like Enya. Good jazz. The un-defined stylings of Bela Fleck. (I have seen them twice in concert and they are awesome...will see them again!) People like Tracy Chapman, Bonnie Raitt and Madeleine Peyroux have lots of SOUL when I want to hear bluesy stuff! I enjoy Madeleine so! Georgia Kelley is great to listen to when I want to really relax...she is a harpist. Beautiful music! If you have never heard her stuff, check it out. I'm not big on country except old stuff...I'm talking about Marty Robbins old cowboy tunes. I also enjoy Randy Travis and my husband sings just like him. I really like anything my son or daughter sing too! I have beautiful, talented children and I would do anything for them! They are great kids! I'm blessed!AND I love to dance!!! Mostly I just dance in the privacy of my own home when noone is looking!

Movies:

TURN OFF THE MUSIC ON MY PAGE AND LISTEN TO WHAT I THINK IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS IN THE WORLD....MUSIC TO MY EARS....A CHILD'S LAUGHTER!

hey you! laughing baby

..
Yeah dad...you're a real comedian!

Laughing Baby

..
An about one year old baby, laughs and laughs and laughs... can't stop...Lots of movies but most of them are the older, non-trashy variety. I really like comedies! Evil Alien Conquerors is the best B movie! I would prefer not to see movies that dishonor God but they hardly make any that don't. I love The Three Amigos, Raising Arizona, The Nerd, Multiplicity, 50 First Dates, Bennie and Joon, The Sandlot, Second Hand Lions, The Wooly Boys, Brian's Song, Ice Ige, Meet The Parents, Over The Hedge, North To Alaska, (I love John Wayne, especially in this one!) PAY IT FORWARD, The Notebook, most Disney movies unless they are just lame. LOVE Christmas movies! (most of them) NOT a scary movie fan...at all...nope, nope, NOPE...I saw Carrie with my friend Lee Ann when I was about 13-14 and that is the last one I have seen and will EVER see! For me Scary movies=nightmares unless it's the old Frankenstein movies or ...you know...like that.

Television:

There is NOTHING that I watch on a regular basis, and I don't even watch tv every day. I can listen to music all day, everyday. Bernie Mac keeps it REAL! (America!) I like: The Office, King of The Hill, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, Everybody Loves Raymond. Some of my favorite stuff is on HGTV, like: Designed To Sell, Design On A Dime, My First Place, House Hunters, I Want That!, etc. I can almost ALWAYS turn it to HGTV and find something I am interested in watching! What Not To Wear, alot of stuff on OETA like Austin City Limits! The Hallmark Channel has some good movies on sometimes. I like watching Emeril Live! I love to cook. I like the travel channel sometimes. I DON'T like: talk shows, soap operas, pagan shows (i.e. Charmed), murder mysteries and crime shows, (negative negative and soooo morbid!) Reality shows=yuck!!! They are usually sooooo disgusting! I am really concerned about kids watching tv and forming their own ideas about what love is, what is good and acceptable behavior( i.e., murder, magic, talking to the dead, cartoons that have foul language, violence, sarcasm and disrespect towards adults, (unless you want to instill those traits in your children!)sex before marriage or having multiple sex partners. These things should NOT be portrayed to look acceptable and do NOT make for a good, blessed life!) I strongly encourage you parents not to let your children watch negative or immorral programs on tv! It affects them more than you may know! Also, PLEASE don't use the TV, computer or video games as an all day babysitter! Kids need to develop the ability to think, play and be creative without so much media dumbing them down! Kids are not even playing with their toys anymore past age 6 or 7!They need to go outside and play with their friends, sing, play backyard sports, board games or "Go Fish"! Ok...I'm coming down off my soap box now....sorry...you certainly don't have to do what I suggest...take it or leave it, but I hope you will be careful what you watch and what your kids watch.

Books:

The Bible, The Message, Houses That Change The World, by Wolgang Simson. Anything by C.S. Lewis! Barbara Johnson is hilarious and I have a book of her complete works which I love! I have read most of the clasics. I love The Believer's Authority...you should read it...it's powerful! Lake Wobegon Days by Garrison Kellor. I Love history books of any kind! I like Joyce Meyer books and Staci Elledge too. (Girls, read "CAPTIVATING"! It's awesome!) Architectural Digest and books about different architectural styles. Southern Home Magazine and a few other magazines. I get Interior Design trade magazines and those are fun. Gardening books are something I also enjoy.I really enjoy reading and wish I had more time to do so. I would rather read than watch tv or a movie. My hubby is a movie-aholic and so I watch movies with him alot.
My japanese name is .. Ayumi (walk, deeper meaning: walk your own way.
"The greatest griefs are those we cause ourselves. --Sophocles from Oedipus Rex"

Sometimes you may feel invisible, unseen. But just remember: foundations are unseen, and they hold up everything!

Heroes:

Jesus! He should be everyone's #1 hero. Without him we would have no hope. He loves us so much he died for us. My mom! (who raised 7 children and loved us all like we were ONLY children!) Anyone who stands in faith no matter what their circumstances, and can say "God is good!", because He is! (ALL THE TIME!) Our American Heroes....those who fight for our freedom and our lives....our United States Military. They give up their own freedom for you and me, and many of them, their own lives. Support our troops as much as you can and please, keep them in your prayers!
