Talk to me....you know you want to because I promise I'll be interesting for at least the first five minutes. Honest!! And now that I hopefully have your attention, I really am up for meeting anyone. I like to meet new and interesting people. I just want to make friends, even if all it ends up being is online or even just through Myspace. I love to talk to people in different states and even different countries. You get to hear much more interesting stories that way. ____________________________________________________________ Quotes from Firefly/Serenity: ************************************************************ ** Fight between the Operative and Mal Operative: Do you know what your sin is, Mal? Mal: Aw,hell. I'm a fan of all seven. (Mal head butts the operative, takes up the sword to kill the operative) Mal: But right now, I'm going to have to go with wrath. ------------------- Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Doctor, I'm takin' your sister under my protection here. If anything happens to her, anything at all, I swear to you, I will get very choked up. Honestly, there could be tears. ---------------------- *Reavers are about to break through the door* Dr. Simon Tam: In all that time on the ship... I've always regretted... not being with you. Kaylee Frye: With me? You mean to say... as in...sex? Dr. Simon Tam: I mean to say. Kaylee Frye: To Hell with this. I'm gonna live! ---------------------- Jayne Cobb: Ain't logical. Cuttin' on his own face, rapin' and murdering - Hell, I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there's a woman, or if I'm gettin' paid - mostly only when I'm gettin' paid. But these Reavers... last ten years they show up like the bogeyman from stories. Eating people alive? Where's that get fun? ---------------------- Kaylee Frye: Goin' on a year now I ain't had nothin' twixt my nethers weren't run on batteries! Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Oh, God! I can't *know* that! Jayne Cobb: I could stand to hear a little more. ---------------------------- Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: What in the hell happened back there? Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: Start with the part where Jayne gets knocked out by a 90 pound girl cuz... I don't think that's ever getting old. --------------------------- Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [on the ship's intercom] This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then - explode. -------------------------- Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: I am a leaf on the wind - watch how I soar. -------------------------- [after the hovercraft makes a crash landing in the hanger of Serenity. Simon runs to his sister] Dr. Simon Tam: River! River? Are you okay? River Tam: I swallowed a bug. --------------------------- [as Serenity descends toward Lilac, a large piece breaks off of the nose with a loud bang and goes sailing past the front windscreen] Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [jumping, startled] What was that? Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [incredulous] Did you see that? Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Was that the primary buffer panel? Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: It did seem to resemble... Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [interrupting, mock-jokingly] Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason? [Another loud bang] Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: Looks like! Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [hitting switches] I thought Kaylee just checked the entry couplings! I have a very clear memory of... Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: Yeah, well, if she doesn't get us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burnthrough, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting. Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Define "interesting". Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [shrugging] "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"? ------------------------- [to Simon] Kaylee Frye: Don't pay anybody in advance. And don't ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky ------------------------- Jayne Cobb: Shiny. Let's be bad guys. ------------------------- Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave. ____________________________________________________________ ___
Artists that I like in different genres. From jazz and blues artists, I like Mindi Abair, David Sanborn, David Benoit, Hermie Hancock, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Praful, George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Joss Stone, Sade, Slash, Dave Koz and many others. I listen to Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, Paulo Nutini, Regina Spektor and The Decemberists thanks to my roommate and the show Grey's Anatomy. I enjoy them, but I haven't gotten around to buying their albums (that's what happens when you're trying to save money and don't download them). I also enjoy classical, musicals, some country and many other genres. Yeah, it's a strange mix, but I get so tired of hearing the same things all the time. This way I get to hear all kinds of different things.
I love movies and have started getting quite a number of DVDs, even though I shouldn't be buying them. I have A.I., Animal House, Bend It Like Beckham, The Blues Brothers, The Breakfast Club, The Chronicles of Riddick, Dinosaur, Donnie Darko, National Lampoon's Dorm Daze, Dune (1983), Dune (2000), Children of Dune, Eddie Izzard: Definite Article - Glorious - Unrepeatable, Empire Records, Eurotrip, Farscape Starburst Editions 1.1-1.3 and 2.1-2.3 and now 3.1-3.3, The Fifth Element, Fight Club, Final Fantasy, Firefly: The Series, The Goonies, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Jurassic Park I and III, Disneys' The Kid, A Knight's Tale, Lord of the Rings (Extended Versions): The Fellowship of the Ring - The Two Towers - The Return of the King, Lost in Translation, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Nothing to Lose, The Patriot, PCU, Peter Pan, The Phantom of the Opera, Office Space, Resident Evil, Rent, The Rocketeer, Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, Rush Hour 2, Saved, The Scorpion King, Secretary, Shaun of the Dead, Sin City, Snatch, Spiderman I and II, Stand by Me, Stargate, Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-7, Swimming Pool, The Transporter, Walk the Line, Weird Science, Wonderfalls (a TV series), X-Men, and Underworld. Okay, I know there's more to add to the list, I just don't know what they are right now. I'll do it later.
I watch Friday night Scifi and that's pretty much it. This consists of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. I watch Lost on Wednesday nights with friends and when it ends for the season we tend to find other things to watch. We just love finding reasons to hang out. My new favorite though has become Heroes on Monday nights on NBC. It's a fantastic show.
Mostly Sci-fi and fantasy. I pick up other types of fiction every once in a while. I have no idea how many I have right now. My collection keeps growing. I had a list here, but I realize that it's a little too lengthy. If you want to know some of the titles, just ask me. I remember most of what I've read.
Anyone who speaks their mind, stands their ground. So, basically my family and many of my friends. Even though quite often, they drive me kind of crazy.
