About Me

My life has changed so much and I've come so far that sometimes it's hard to remember where things changed. We all have friends at every stage in our life and very few stay with us our entire lives. I can only name a few that I am still friends with since elementary school. I remember not having very many friends in middle and high school, but when I made it to college it seemed so easy to make friends. We'd hang out, talk, watch movies and sometimes even do our homework. But every year I went back after summer break, it seemed harder to reconnect with some of them. They wouldn't call or email back and so I lost touch with them. I came to realize that, sad as it was, the friendship was meant only to last for that time. I made new friends, but it happened again and again after each summer break. So, I've realized through personal experiences that people come into your life and leave when it is their time to move on. The ones that stick around are your true friends, the ones that contact you and say, hey let's do something, those are the friends you keep around. I enjoy my time with the friends I've made at Purdue, especially since they seem intent on sticking around, of course that may be just because they like mooching off of me and talking me into getting down to my family's lake house in Brown County. At least it's quality time together and I do love them with all their quirks. Going further now, I feel I've made quite a few friends at work and we do get opportunities to meet oustide of work. I can't tell yet if any of them would still call if they or I left the museum. I'd like to hope we would. I like too many of them and want to stay in contact. Some have already proven that they want to stick around and keep in contact and I enjoy time spent with them, watching Lost on Wednesday nights. So, to all my friends, keep calling, emailing or whatever because I love hearing from you. To those friends I had in the past, if you truly want to reconnect, I would love to try again and see if anything comes of it. If not, know that I enjoyed the time we had and hope all the best for your futures.

I'd like to meet:

Talk to me....you know you want to because I promise I'll be interesting for at least the first five minutes. Honest!! And now that I hopefully have your attention, I really am up for meeting anyone. I like to meet new and interesting people. I just want to make friends, even if all it ends up being is online or even just through Myspace. I love to talk to people in different states and even different countries. Music:

Artists that I like in different genres. From jazz and blues artists, I like Mindi Abair, David Sanborn, David Benoit, Hermie Hancock, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Praful, George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Joss Stone, Sade, Slash, Dave Koz and many others. I listen to Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, Paulo Nutini, Regina Spektor and The Decemberists thanks to my roommate and the show Grey's Anatomy. I enjoy them, but I haven't gotten around to buying their albums (that's what happens when you're trying to save money and don't download them). I also enjoy classical, musicals, some country and many other genres. Yeah, it's a strange mix, but I get so tired of hearing the same things all the time. This way I get to hear all kinds of different things.

Movies:

I love movies and have started getting quite a number of DVDs, even though I shouldn't be buying them. I have A.I., Animal House, Bend It Like Beckham, The Blues Brothers, The Breakfast Club, The Chronicles of Riddick, Dinosaur, Donnie Darko, National Lampoon's Dorm Daze, Dune (1983), Dune (2000), Children of Dune, Eddie Izzard: Definite Article - Glorious - Unrepeatable, Empire Records, Eurotrip, Farscape Starburst Editions 1.1-1.3 and 2.1-2.3 and now 3.1-3.3, The Fifth Element, Fight Club, Final Fantasy, Firefly: The Series, The Goonies, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Jurassic Park I and III, Disneys' The Kid, A Knight's Tale, Lord of the Rings (Extended Versions): The Fellowship of the Ring - The Two Towers - The Return of the King, Lost in Translation, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Nothing to Lose, The Patriot, PCU, Peter Pan, The Phantom of the Opera, Office Space, Resident Evil, Rent, The Rocketeer, Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, Rush Hour 2, Saved, The Scorpion King, Secretary, Shaun of the Dead, Sin City, Snatch, Spiderman I and II, Stand by Me, Stargate, Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-7, Swimming Pool, The Transporter, Walk the Line, Weird Science, Wonderfalls (a TV series), X-Men, and Underworld. Okay, I know there's more to add to the list, I just don't know what they are right now. I'll do it later.

Television:

I watch Friday night Scifi and that's pretty much it. This consists of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. I watch Lost on Wednesday nights with friends and when it ends for the season we tend to find other things to watch. We just love finding reasons to hang out. My new favorite though has become Heroes on Monday nights on NBC. It's a fantastic show.

Books:

Mostly Sci-fi and fantasy. I pick up other types of fiction every once in a while. I have no idea how many I have right now. My collection keeps growing. I had a list here, but I realize that it's a little too lengthy. If you want to know some of the titles, just ask me. I remember most of what I've read.

Heroes:

Anyone who speaks their mind, stands their ground. So, basically my family and many of my friends. Even though quite often, they drive me kind of crazy.
