About Me

Well folks, we're back and guess what? My house in Trieste is still there! The lady who lives in the house is still living there and let us in. She was awesomely gracious. She remembered me and my swing and my dog. In fact, she adopted my dog, Trixie, when my evil mother made us leave her behind. Trixie had a good life. (I've been worrying for 50 years.) Here is the pedestal from which I gave flying lessons to all my friends at the convent school.
I believed that it was just a matter of pluck and practice and a person could fly. Since I believed it, all my friends did. We spent hours practicing leaping off the pedestal and flapping our arms. We were getting better all the time. When I got confident enough I was going to fly off our ledge and off into the world at large. Our yard was 54 steps up and the house was 15 more. This is the view from our yard to the street, from where I was going to launch myself.
When we had to leave, I didn't have enough confidence yet to fly away. Wimpy kid.
I tracked down my convent school and I'll show you a photo of the name. It's pretty eerie, I think you'll agree.
