About Me

Well, a bit has changed since my last update, so here we go...
Name is still Christina, and I'm still married (to the most wonderful man in the world, of course), that hasn't changed. I'm not pregnant anymore, though. My son was born at home on Friday, April 11th. We had a very rough start but we got through it and things couldn't be better. My son is a healthy, smart, funny, wonderful and quite charming little boy. He amazes me every day.
We cloth diaper, and believe me, it's not as difficult as it sounds. Definitely look into it if you're having (or already have, it's never too late) children. It's SO MUCH CHEAPER and there are no chemicals up against those oh so delicate parts. Don't know where to start? Check out the tutorial here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=270287 and check out all the different types of diapers at www.abbyslane.com
I'm currently working on becoming certified as a Childbirth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Breastfeeding Counselor. I've become very passionate on the politics surrounding childbirth, and feel that many women are taken advantage of at a time where they should be empowered. My husband supports me in this 100%, and thinks I should go as far as becoming a midwife. We'll see about that...
And that is what's been going on in my life, but this may all change in the next three weeks :)

My Interests

My Family, Natural Childbirth, Music, Comic Books, Batman, Video Games, Resident Evil, Zombies, Movies

I'd like to meet:

Not you.

Music:

I love all music. I go to goth clubs and punk bars, listen to everything from the 20s to the 60s at home, and throw on the girly rock when I need to be empowered.

Movies:

The Business of Being Born, if you're pregnant, WATCH IT! I love movies, and like a lot of variety. If I'm in a cheesy mood I'll put on a romantic comedy, if I want to laugh it will probably be satire, if my adrenaline is pumping it will be action. As long as it's well made and has substance I'll watch it, and probably enjoy it.

Television:

Six Feet Under, Dead Like Me, old episodes of Law & Order, Batman the Animated Series, Degrassi the Next Generation, and that's pretty much it. I barely watch TV and haven't listened to the radio in like two years. [Make that four years](Wait, six years)

Books:

Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books ever. I cried at the end. The people on the train with me were giving me the strangest looks... Anything from Harry Potter to Stephen Hawking.

Heroes:

Poison Ivy, Red Hot, Jessica Rabbit. Strong, sexy females... And for some reason they're all animated.
