Harte Riffs, eingängige Melodien und pure Energie auf der Bühne charakterisieren Liquid Lightning, deren Musik am häufigsten mit dem Begriff Alternativ Rock in Verbindung gesetzt wird. Neben den Verzerrten Gitarren und treibenden Schlagzeugrhythmen sorgen auch Klaviereinlagen und Funkelemente für Abwechslung in der Musik. 2004 in Düsseldorf gegründet, hat sich die aktuelle Besetzung herausgefiltert und sich auf zahlreichen Bühnen profiliert. Der 2005 entstandene EP Schizophrenia folgten eine Tour durch NRW, Radio Interviews, sowie "air-time" auf verschiedenen Radiosendern. Nach einem sehr erfolgreichem Jahr 2005 war 2006 das jahr der großen Veränderungen. Nach einem Konzert der "How it ends ahh nee doch nich " Tour wurde die Band von einem koreanischem Magnager unter Vertrag genommen. Viele Konzerte folgten sowie Aufnahmen im bekannten kölner Studio 301 in dem die Toten Hosen und viele Internationale Größen ihre Platten aufgenommen haben. Dann das große Ziel eine Tour durch Korea was leider verpasst wurde. Unstimmigkeiten mit dem koreanischen Plattenlabel sogrten dafür das der Traum zerplatzte. Auch nachzulesen in Zeitungsberichten der RP ( Harte Jungs im Geschäft) und dem Express ( Newcomer nach Korea). Doch nun im Jahr 2007 geht es weiter. Eine neue Tour und die suche nach einem Label haben begonnen. Also verpasst nicht die düsseldorfer Newcomer mit wohl der abwechslungsreichsten Vergangenheit.

___Liquid Lightning came into existence 2004 in the suburbs of Düsseldorf Germany and has since become a leading influence in the city and beyond, successfully mixing hard riffs and pure energy on stage with complex melodic structures creating one great rockband. Alternative rock of the best kind distorted Guitars and driving drums coupled with melody and even piano interludes keep the music alive and interesting.When Tim Potz (guitars), Oliver Dlugosch (Drums) and Davis Kirkendall (Vocals, Piano and Keysboards) founded the band as 13-year-old kids with different backrounds rockmusic came in and took over their lives. After a few stints with different bassguitarists in the first years the perfect match was found with Marvin Jost (Bass), completing Liquid Lightning’s lineup.
Practicing in Tim’s basement the band grew from a band covering old rocksongs to the inovative, energized, superloud and outgoing formation playing gigs everywhere today. Writing their own songs became very important to the band fairly early on and the sources they draw on are by no means monotonous. Tim, a selftaught guitarmaster who’s father is a rockband veteran himself and Davis, singing in the band after starting as a pure pianist, write most of the songs although Bassist Marvin and a Punkrock influenzed Drummer Olli also contribute creatively to every track.
English lyrics always seemed the way to go for Liquid Lightning, as Davis grew up bilingual (English and German), his parents being musicians who moved to Germany from the United States in the 1970’s. Abstract as well as specific themes are used in the lyrics, although the music itself is held above all in combination with the lyrical text.
Using every bit of money they earned for equipment and transportation and every bit of spare time for the band has payed off bit by bit. Trying to get a foothold in the overcrowded, not well publicized and horribly promoted indy/rock scene in Düsseldorf and the surrounding cities, the band organized, promoted and suplied the equipment for most of the gigs in the early years on their own gaining musical ability and songwriting skills on the way. Getting good feedback at gigs and widening their fanbase they recorded their first selfproduced Demo in 2005. Followed by small tours in North Rhein Westfalia Liquid Lightning are looking at a bit bigger scope in 2007 with studio recordings, tours of South Korea and further promotional gigs in Germany leading more and more rockmusic.
