His faithful friends Kiros and Ward followed him wherever he went, and his fumbling journey eventually lead them to the outskirts of Winhill.Awkward and sometimes downright silly, Laguna is the exact oppossite of Squall Leonheart. He gets leg cramps when he talks to women he likes, he stutters when he speaks, and he quite possibly has the worst hand-eye coordination on the planet. This does not make him any less likeable, however-- in fact, it works in quite the opposite direction. He draws people to him because he is clumsy-- everyone likes him and wants to help him out.When he eventually meets Raine in Winhill after AWOLing, he is wounded and on the verge of death. She nurses him back to health, and they eventually fall in love. Laguna asks her to marry him, and Raine happily agrees. Their happiness, however, does not last long. Ellone, the small girl Raine took in, is kidnapped by Esthar soldiers, and Laguna tries to hunt her down.He is away from both Winhill and Raine for a very, very, long time. He eventually finds Ellone in Esthar city, and after some deliberation decides to stay on and free the people. He is elected president not long after the coup de'etat, and eventually receives word that Raine has died. He is heart broken, of course, and never remarries.Years later, he meets Squall Leonheart, a young man with a mission to destroy a sorceress and save the world...~ * ~
