His followers affectionately refer to him as the destoyer but thats doesnt even begin to describe the way this young beatmaster can slay the crowd. Since knee-high to a grasshopper, Ryu (Ryan to his Mum) has been tampering with the most cutting edge beats and breaks known to man, creating the most twisted soundscapes imaginable. It was at the age of 11 upon purchase of his very first 7, Boyz 2 Mens End of The Road that he realised the endless possibilities that lay on the flip with the dub. Enthralling and enraging his peers in equal measures Ryu proceeded to badly scratch Mr Men Stories over some seriously soul-lite beats and from then on he knew music was the path his life must take"Back in '81 years I was born in London but after a misspent youth moved sticks at the age of five to be brought up as an Essex boy. After years playing guitar in local bands it was at the age of 20 I picked up my headphones and began my DJ career, starting with parties, functions and Style a successful monthly club night at Bar 2 in my home town of Chelmsford. This became so popular that we moved to the 500 capacity The Cave in 2003. The following year I won the Truckers Café DJ Competition at Bar Vinyl in Camden, which boosted my confidence and led to more gigs in London. I relocated to Camden a few months later (where I also work at MTV) and since then I have continued to DJ anywhere I can including The End, Ministry of Sound, The Key, Herbal, 333, Surya, Bedroom Bar, Medicine, Hidden, Anam & Lockside Lounge.
