They call me the Hyacinth Girl

I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.

About Me

Well, I suppose it's time for an update. I'm a college graduate (at last!!), and now I'm waiting on pins and needles to hear from the grad school of my choice, which happens to be the University of Arkansas. I've pretty much put all my eggs into that basket, and if they scramble my eggs, I'll cry. Ok, I won't cry. But, I will move to Chicago where I hope to get into the publishing field until I CAN convince Arkansas to take me.
Now for some random things about me: I adore minor chords. I secretly wish I was left-handed. The greatest compliment I ever received came from my grandmother when she told me she loved the sound of my laugh. Boddice-rippers are my guilty pleasure brain candy (heavy emphasis on the candy part). I write terrible autobiographical confessional poetry and burn it in the attempt to create a literary effigy. I would rather have lived in the 1920s or 1960s. I remember the exact date my parents' divorce became final--March 3, 1985. Blue eyes make me weak in the knees. I read poetry for pleasure. I actually WANT to write a paper about how Herman Melville's novel Moby Dick is a precursor to the Modernist movement in literature. My PhD dissertation will concern the decline and fall of Saturday morning cartoons. I want to marry Jon Stewart and have lots of little political satirists. I am the human embodiment of hyperbole.
