10/31/2006 11:27 AM Local Japanese Man Goes From Little Baby to Little Lady By Vanessa Halpin SOMERVILLE, MA -- Somerville fun boy Hiroshi Kameyama is in the spotlight once again and locals can't believe their eyes. We first caught a glimpse of this karaoke singing sensation with his powerful voice and boyish (or should we say ladylike now?) good looks at every Somerville townie's favorite watering hole, Devlin's (may she rest in peace). Whether he was belting out that killer tune by the Killers, "Somebody Told Me" or morphing into one of the Backstreet Boys to bring us "I Want It That Way," this show stopper always brought the noise and the funk. Once Devlin's self-destructed into oblivion, Hiroshi carried the beat over to the Sports Depot and the result was a strong fan base with no shortage of little lady screams and cheers from the crowd.That's why there was pure shock one evening as the regulars were leaving the Depot and Hiroshi revealed whiningly to a group of his friends that he is "a little baby!" Some responded with laughter. Some responded with disgust. Hiroshi's friend Lisa Nappi says, "I didn't appreciate it." Even after friend Pete Lacombe explained to Hiroshi that that term is usually uttered by people with a certain type of fetish, Hiroshi continued to utter it again and again. "I'm a little baby. I'm a filthy little baby," he'd say. Pete shared his concern with us when the onset of this behavior began. "Well, being his roommate, it does make me worry a little. My room is pretty close to his and I certainly don't want him looking for a feeding or changing in the middle of the night if you know what I mean." We know what you mean Pete.It seemed all was quiet in Hiroshi's world for awhile. His friends and fans seemed to be coming to grips with his "baby" status. That is why the night of October 28, 2006 was such a shock to the city of Somerville. At Ben and Liz Ballard's annual Halloween extravaganza, Hiroshi showed up as non-other than badgirl Christina Aguilera. The resemblance was uncanny.....from the black-streaked blonde wig, to the half-shirt, to the leopard skin high heels. Everyone was under the same impression: This is a great Halloween costume. That's when Hiroshi spoke the words that so many have said before him, but that no one expected out of his mouth: "I'm a little lady." The party-goers gasped! "These heels are very comfortable. I think I will wear them more often and be a little lady!" he exclaimed. All Hiroshi's friends could do was shake their heads. One moment, Hiroshi Kameyama was a normal Japanese man living the everyday American dream. The next moment, he was a karaoke king. Before anyone knew it, he was living a super fetish beyond most people's wildest dreams. And then, he ventured where many other men had not dared go before him (to those that have, you're brave souls): Little Lady World.We can't wait to see what Hiroshi will come up with next.
