Everyone's got to be somewhere...

About Me

I am a sixth year student at the University of Nevada, Reno, and will probably be here until spring '09 at least. My major is Music Education, for one of my passions in life is music, and the creation of song and beauty. I really don't know what to say about myself, except that I try to find the truth in all things, and have a good time all the while. I appreciate my relationships with all people. I love enjoying a quiet moment on a blanket under the stars, or a loud moment in the middle of a fun-filled party with friends (not so much the huge anonymous parties), or a free moment driving my car at night with the windows all down, or wearing my long black cloak in the wind while it's overcast at night, or playing a beautiful soaring french horn line in a great piece of music, or looking into someone's eyes and knowing that there's a power and a beauty there that I want to be a part of... I like to think about everything, and I think I tend to overanalyze things, because one of the traits that I try to have is a good sense of wisdom. I enjoy anyone and everyone's company, as long as you are a good person to hang out with. These quotes tend to describe me pretty well...
..center "Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others. Even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and agressive persons, for they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career. However humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is: many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you concieve him to be. And whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."
..left Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. --Old Proverb
Do not speak if what you have to say is no better than silence. --Fortune Cookie
"To thine own self be true." --Shakespeare
"Do - or do not. There is no 'try'" --Yoda
"It is not our abilities that make us who we are, it is our choices." --Albus Dumbledore
"Do not be too moral. You may cheat yourself out of much life. So aim above morality. Be not simply good; be good for something." --Henry David Thoreau
"Honor has not to be won; it must only not be lost." --Arthur Schopenhauer
"The policy of being too cautious is the greatest risk of all." --Jawaharlal Nehru
"If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things." --René Descartes

Control over Time
You're a bit controling.. being able to freeze time itself, play it backwards, fast forward it, or even just certain people or things, even yourself! A foutain of youth maybe? But if you abuse it too much, you might wind up witnessing your friends death because you've kept yourself young. Oh well, you'll find new friends and live forever, defending yourself against those who oppose you by freezing them in time.. fun fun.

Quizzes by myYearbook.com -- the World's Biggest Yearbook!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone that can appreciate sarcasm and movie quotes, anyone that plays world of warcraft too much, anyone that is fascinated by the outdoors and loves to be active (i need more of those), anyone who is witty and creative, and anyone who can enjoy a good time! A fragrant flock of freewilled friends following a furry fowl for feasting and frolicking is free to flood my fallacious free-flowing lifestyle!

As a second idea, I want to meet or find people who are genuinely happy people. Someone who can find the smallest things funny, and will let it brighten their day, rather than focusing on what didn't work, or what bad things happened. Someone who can focus on the important things - the ones that matter to other people, or that truly make you happy, because sometimes it's just the things that make someone happy that are really important. Someone who loves to fly - metaphorically...to spread their wings and go. I love to drive my car, windows down, radio playing sometimes, and just feel the wind and know i'm free. I need to find people that can have a great time doing something silly, then can switch gears and drop into a deep philosophical conversation at 3 in the morning about what drives the universe and what fascinates their soul. I need someone who appreciates music in its many faceted and varied forms, from the fast paced, to the slow. I'll admit that sometimes I'm a little shallow, but sometimes it's the people who are modest and carefree about their looks that I find truly beautiful...

Music:

Classical, Soundtrack, Jazz, Rock, Techno, Evanescence, Enya, Metallica, Danny Elfman, John Williams, Hanz Zimmer, Godsmack, Linkin Park, Oingo Boingo, Tom Lehrer, Weird Al Yankovic, Bach, Chopin, Wagner, Blue Man Group, Juno Reactor, Then there are the hilarious comedians, Robin Williams, Dane Cook, Eddie Izzard, Ron White, Mitch Hedberg, that I quote on a regular basis ...Christian pop music is so gross...

my list of worst three genres of music (if they can be called that) is
3: dumb country music (you know what kind i mean...)
2: really hardcore and talentless rap. that isn't even trying to be music. 1: Christian pop music. The only kind of music that literally triggers a gag reflex when heard. ghulhahch.

Movies:

Austin Powers, AVP, Beetlejuice, Dark City, Excalibur, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Fugative, Ghostbusters, Gladiator, Harry Potter, iRobot, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Last Samurai, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Life of Brian, Lord of the Rings, Me Myself and Irene, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mortal Kombat, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, The Neverending Story, Reign of Fire, Roxanne, Spider-Man, Star Wars, Tombstone, True Lies, Van Helsing, Whole Nine Yards, Willow,
Thought I'd put that...

Television:

EVERYONE MUST WATCH 24! JACK BOWER IS THE FUCKIN SHIZ! Who Wants to be a Superhero would've been a good show to watch if I were on it, but will be good anyway. Heroes sounds like a good show, but haven't had time, and Scrubs, which I see accidentally, is good and funny. besides these shows, I try not to watch TV, as I consider it one of my weaknessess. Even if I don't want to watch TV, or hate the show, I will find myself standing and staring at it as if it had stolen my soul.

Books:

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, DaVinci Code, and many more, i just can't think of any.....

Heroes:

Link from the Legend of Zelda, that guy on the 'other' 911 flight that managed to fight the terrorists and crash the plane before it hit the white house, totally random strangers that stop and help someone in need with no secondary motive or perverse reasons but to simply help someone who needs it, any of the most important scientific minds that have helped us develop our knowledge and technology to where it is today, regardless of what the church thought of them- like Galileo, Newton, Louie Pasteur, Copernicus, Einstein, people who are clever and compromising enough to find ways to resolve their differences without involving other unneccessary people (wars),
