The Napper Tandies

Songs of Ale and Rebellion

About Me

The Napper Tandies are an explosive traditional pub band that rose to the premier ranks of the genre in their first year. From the beginnings as an 10-piece drinking ensemble - then called Don't Step On Seamus - the group performed their first St Paddy's gig at The Waterworks Pub in Rockland, 2003. That winter, the Tandies became the mighty three-piece. The group has recently restuctured, forming an even more potent brigade of balladeers! That's right, young fusiliers, the Napper Tandies are once again on the rise and will not leave the fight for only a few, warm-hearted Volunteers. The generals are returning to power, and like the Honarable James Napper Tandy after whom they're named, Ireland's sons will not go gentle into that good night! So butter your brogues! Shake hands with your spade!! And join the fight!!! Raise a pint to Freedom!!! And the young Napper Tandies!

Sounds Like: The Dubliners mixed with Roadhouse whiskey. What Johnny Cash, Ronnie Drew & Shane MacGowan would sound like in the predawn madness of a craic-filled evening at camp. A traditional sound with punk sensibilities. The throat-song of the Emerald Isle.
