Hi, I'm Steven.. October 26th, 1989 I was 24 years old and seemingly had my entire life ahead of me.. While driving home from work that morning, I fell asleep driving.. I remember waking up in my car being very afraid.. A million thoughts were going through my head.. When you're near death you know it, and I was near death.. I wondered would I ever see my family again.. I knew if God didn't spare my life I was going to die.. I prayed in my car and simply asked God to not let me die.. God honored that prayer.. I've lived the past 17 years in a wheelchair.. Many people would not consider me blessed, but I'm a very blessed man.. Yes, there are things I can no longer do, but I focus on the things I can do.. I've never been depressed since my wreck and wake up with a smile every morning.. I can honestly say I'm a better man now, than before my wreck.. My wreck was very humbling, but God has kept me focused.. I don't want any pity, just accept me as I am, God does.. Don't focus on my wheelchair, it doesn't define who I am.. I'm not lazy, I'm in the process of writing my first book.. I've also coached baseball, football, and basketball since my wreck and when my son graduates high school, I will once again.. I'm very proud of my kids.. They adjusted to me being in a chair very well. They've always respected me.. My daughter is now 22 and in nursing school.. My son is a Senior in high school.. I understand many of you will read my profile and simply think I'm boring and not say hello.. That's ok, I never get upset about people ignoring me.. I understand people being afraid of the unknown.. I'm not at all shy and don't be afraid to say hello.. God bless you..:)
