OK. So I've been in operation for TWO YEARS now, and I figure it's time to describe myself to end all confusion. This is about me:
I am a recording engineer. My name is Matt Speck. I have a small ProTools rig. It is in my house. Because I get good sounds, I own my gear, and it's in my house I have little overhead. That equates to a lower rate for professional quality for you.
Now about the background. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio. I started to go to college in 1999 as a music major and decided almost two years in that I really just wanted to record, so I dropped out and went to the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. I proposed to my wife and flew out to Boise, Idaho for a week long interview. My new wife and I moved out here for my internship with Scott Pergande, now owner/ operator of The Mix House . I worked with Scott for about a year, then, for multiple circumstances, took a break for about a year. The summer of 2004 I was left some money from a family member and started Speck Studio, in my Meridian home.
I've been operating Speck Studio in my home now for a little over a year, with much success. Between the experiences in recording school, my internship, The Venue (I run front of house sound and manage production), and here at Speck Studio, I feel I have a broad pallette to work with.
