About Me

My name is Andreea, and I was born in Romania. I am 26 years of age and I am happily married. I was raised in the Orthodox Faith although my perspective now ranges a far-wider spectrum than that of monotheistic belief. My work is very private, but I can say that it involves a great deal of travel. Thus, I have befriended very interesting people from all religions, all walks of life, and many places in the world, and I have learned to respect and embrace diversity as an enrichening aspect of our humanity. Politically, I reject the ideas of capitalism as I am radically in favor of a more fair distribution of wealth in all aspects. I believe in the long-term power of cooperative action and dialogue over violence. I believe in the power of art to educate the masses and in the long-term dissapearance of currency as a means of exchange. I believe in the value of work as a major contributor to the sentiment of purpose in the individual's mind, and I believe in the value of purposeful work as a means to heal emotional scars...a heritage from my grandfather :) I am an orphan, and I have been one for so long that I am beginning to forget what it was to have a peaceful childhood. Nevertheless, I believe in the central role of family in the healthy upbringing of the individual and as the nucleus of a healthy society. Personally, I am a very patriotic person and I love and appreciate my Nation's history and its decisive role in the development of Europe as a whole. As I said earlier, I have the honor of having friends from all walks of life, and as such, I am against all forms of violence based on ethnicity. Unlike many people of my country, I am open to Tsigani (Roma) settling on our lands. It is the structure of our own segregative system that has contributed to weaving the vicious circle in which these people are, for the moment, stuck. But that will change. We will change. I love to play and watch sports, especially football, and I hope my country gets a bit further at this year's Euro Cup although we have much to go down the road of cohesive discipline to some day aspire to winning that cup. I have built this page in the hopes to share and exchange thoughts, aspirations and passions with you, and in the hopes that you will do so with me as well.

My Interests

Films, literature, philosophy, history, travelling, martial arts, fashion design, dancing, music, lore, war and politics. To summarize, I love existence and all its life and death however beautiful or bloody and cruel it may be.

I'd like to meet:

Myspace Glitters

Music:

The list might be long: metal (norse, thrash, classic, heavy, power, black, symphonic), classical (Mozart, Tchaikovski, Beethoven, Chopin, Shubert, Bach), rap (anything with a social message: The Roots, Mos Def, BUG Mafia, Nas, Outkast in their early days, Cypress Hill), dance, pop, techno, trance, manele, folklore and this in any language imaginable from around the globe.

Movies:

Anything outside the mainstream. I loathe cheap vampyre films such as the Underworld series and Van Helsing and the such that perpetrate false paradygm on a very real phenomenon.

Books:

Edgar Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, Marx, Lenin, Bram Stoker, Elizabeth Kostova, Jeanna Kalogridis, Eminescu, Georges Kersaudy...just try me ;-)

Heroes:

My father and my mother - Catherine II The Great - Vlad Besaraba (some of you know him as Vlad Tepes) - my Dacian and Finnish ancestors - the everyday hardworking father or mother struggling to keep their families alive no matter what the sacrifices imply: we should erect statues, not to individual rich men but to citizens who worked for the greater good.
