Pottery ~ there is nothing like feeling the wet clay in your hands as you mold into something. It’s very therapeutic. Did I mention you get to smash things and pound on stuff?
Refinishing Furniture ~there is just something about taking some old thing someone didn’t want and making it into something people oh and aw about that makes you feel like you really accomplished something.
MMORPG’s –Massive Multi Player .. Role Playing Games- that’s really more of a vice though, but sometimes the only way to slow my mind down is to throw it into something like that.

I’m pretty eclectic on music it really depends on my mood. Usually I like a song that’s got something to say –it’s a writer thing live with it. Artists and groups I like Sting, the Police, Billy Joel, Duran Duran, The Beatles, Phil Collins, Sheryl Crow, KT Tunstall, 80’s retro stuff like Blondie, Madness and Modern English but also classical, celtic and folk music too. Just sounds of life are their own music too. I just don’t understand people who can’t sit and listen to world without trying to fill it with other noises.

I played the piano for 3 or 4 years and the violin for 6 years. I loved it, but I'm not very musically talented.

Books:
I don't think there is enough room on the Internet to list all my favorite books. I'll read just about anything once. My all time favorite are the Pern books, by Anne McCaffrey I still cry when I read the Dragon Song and Dragon Singer. I know I'm a big baby.
I have so little time to read anymore. ..

I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life

and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied. I want to know what sustains you
from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
