i love music , am overflowing with ideas, generally giddy enough in the right crowd to break into a poorly done song and dance. It's all in fun. I keep folks updated with the goings-on over here these days.

My Interests

music, taking pictures, drawing pictures, looking at pictures other people draw, driving around, going away for a while, things you see when you look up, making lovely things, running, architecture, all things mod, language, politics, summertime and summer clothes, miniatures, vintage sound and sound all around, history, creative people

I'd like to meet:

people who get excited over things, in a laid back way. be creative, be smart, have worthwhile tastes. Come on and say hello.

Music:

beatles, olivia tremor control, kinks, t rex, gorky's zygotic mynci, bowie, circulatory system, will oldham, sonic boom, spacemen 3, neutral milk hotel, belle and sebastian, beulah, fast-drivin rave-ups with the yardbirds, THE LILYS, the creation, *creation records* of course, elephant 6, animal collective, syd barrett, the jesus & mary chain, brian jonestown massacre, elf power, zombies, beach boys, sun ra, love, ramones, ride, felt, primal scream, rolling stones, spiritualized(lazer guided melodies esp.), tv personalities, turtles, all that old pretty shoegazer stuff, and to keep from going on--psych, 60s pop, foot-stompin' garage, experimental, and noise make my day o-k!

Movies:

royal tenenbaums, east of eden, raiders of the lost ark, spinal tap, bottle rocket, matewan, gangs of new york, battle royale, umbrellas of cherbourg, blow up, science of sleep, breathless, amadeus, rockumentaries, anything by the incredible Elia Kazan, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Godard, too.

Television:

history, diy & hgtv channels, the office, venture bros., foster's, documentaries- yay.

Books:

*anything* on history. lolita. i love hawthorne, fitzgerald, sarah vowell, burgess, vonnegut, faulkner, wharton, orwell, catch-22, lewis carroll, children's books and their illustrations are just brilliant (esp 1950s-60s era), east of eden: the only steinbeck i like. art books and photography books (david bailey), magazines are pretty nifty too: the drama, bust, venus, readymade, and so on.

Heroes:

my grandparents, Bucky Fuller, Keith Moon, sun ra, Delia Derbyshire, anyone who creates something beautiful or interesting.
