More than a vocalist...

About Me

As a vocalist donovan has made TV appearances on The Word, MTV Most Wanted, The Clive James Show and Motown Live. His voice can be heard doing the backing vocals for the likes of Callaghan, Dionne Warwick, Louise, Mica Paris, Maxi Priest, Enrique Englesias, Lionel Ritchie, Tina Turner, Steve Brookstein, Andy Abrahams and Lee Ryan. He has performed in venues such as Wembley Arena, NEC Birmingham and The London Palladium. Shared a stage with Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, KC and the Sunshine Band, Edwin Starr and Lionel Ritchie.His credits as an actor include Peachum in the Beggars Opera and Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing. He has been in the award winning short film Laters and the tv series Casualty and Judge John Deed. He has also landed a part in the new hit West End musical Daddy Cool which was showing at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London. After a successful run in the West End the show went to Berlin for 10 weeks.He graduated from Westminister University in 2001 with a BA Hons in Commercial Music, and in 2003 from ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) with a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Acting and in 2006 gained his Masters Degree in Theatre Practices from Rose Bruford Drama college. In his continued quest of learning and improving he is now studying in the Meisner Technique with Scott Williams of the Impulse Company.Donovan has now branched out into voice over work and has recently done work on a brand new animated series FunkyTown and is also working on an animated series for Sony entitled Apollo's Pad. He has also added his vocal talents to Ram Jam Productions, doing the vocal on So Natural.Also he is in the process of writing a play which originally started as a monologue on his post graduate acting course at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) and was expanded when studying for his Masters Degree at Rose Bruford College. It is a work in progress entitled Blood, Sweat and Theft and will have a rehearsed reading at the college in October.More than a vocalist.
