Common Ancestor is the brain child of frontman Clive Stewart. The Jamaican born Stewart is the singer, song writer, producer and guitarist of the band. Clive embarked on the music scene in the early 1990's. He made several recordings and gained some radio air time. Common Ancestor has been a mainstay at many venues in the Pacific Northwest. In 2007 Clive Stewart had the honor of opening for Crystal Gayle.Well known session drummer Tony Handy is the other integral part of Common Ancestor. Tony is also a writer, instructor and producer. He can trace his roots to W.C. Handy, the father of the St. Louis Blues. Tony has brought over 47 years of experience to Common Ancestor and has recorded several albums. He has also preformed with Walter McKinney and Michael Nash of the band "Rose Royce".Common Ancestor blends the sounds of Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk and Reggae. The band's goal is to share their music with the world, one listener at a time. Enjoy
