About Me

Lotball is a discipline of the sport of tennis played between two teams of two players each. It is not to be confused with the “lotball” and “Lotball Association (LBA)”featured on the website http://www.lotball.com/ As in tennis, players use a stringed racquet to strike a hollow rubber ball covered in felt. In lotball, however, the goal of the game is to strike the ball over a fence and into a “lot,” hitting a target for a set number of points. Described by its proponents as a sport of skill and accuracy combining elements from multiple other sports, including baseball, cricket, target sports, and, of course, racquet sports, lotball has encountered some difficulty finding acceptance among traditionalists, who have called the game an excuse for delinquent vandalism. Though, in its earlier years, this assessment was true, lotball has matured beyond its adolescent rebelliousness and is gaining fans and players. Currently, lotball remains an unorganized, amateur sport, with championship-level leagues forming. Recently, the Federation of Lotball (FLB), a temporary governing body, was formed to formalize the rules of the game, develop a permanent governing body, and promote the game throughout the United States and internationally.
