About the tracks:
01. Butti 49 - Flying ft. Emo (Cosa Nostra's Restless Ears remix) - 2005
This is a test remix we did for Butti 49, done near the end of 2005. We're pretty doubtful that it will ever be released, so we're just claiming what's ours, and deciding what should be floating out there. Remember, the power does not lie with the labels anymore! Note: This version is not fully mixed or mastered!
02. We'll Sort You Out! - 2006
Its a little tribute to lip service. Need we say more?
03. Matriz Do Funk (re-edit) - 2006
Brasil heads will definitely know the original...already getting rave reviews from peeps like John Kong, Paolo Scotti and Tom Wieland!
04. Fuzz Wuz - 2006
A little tribute to that grinding DETROIT vibe that we all love sooo much! But of cos diced with some Cosa Nostra twyst...
About Cosa Nostra:
2 blokes with a deep love for deep music, running Singapore's pioneer leftfield underground dance music resource site, danceandsoul.com. A combination of a DJ (Dean) and musician/producer (Kaye), the music production partnership was born somewhere around 2004.
Respecting the timeless sounds of classic genres of music but pushing it foward to keep it relevant for modern ears and/or dancefloors can be considered the main ethos for Cosa Nostra. "Old" new music and "new" old music, if you will. The future is in the past in the future.
Their music has gotten the thumbs up from Tyler Askew (Rude Movements), Michael Ruetten, Tom Wieland (7 SamuraiPanoptikum/Les Gammas), Nik Weston, Mathijs (MFP Collective), Raggy (Off Limits Radio), Rainer Truby (Truby Trio), Ennio Styles, DJ Fred Spider, and the duo (individually and collectively) have rocked floors in Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and London, and Kaye (the musical instrument playing half) has performed with Kyoto Jazz Massivie, DJ Vadim, Joseph Malik, Nik Weston, Reel People, Yukihiro Fukutomi, Russ Dewbury and Zero DB, among others.
