---------------------------------Solid Mc a.k.a. Jason Silis started his music career in 1987 when he began writing original rap songs. He used an old keyboard, an oscillator, a tape recorder and lots of plastic containers and glasses to bang on. He recorded his music and dubbed it onto tapes . In 1987 SOLID distributed many of these tapes to freinds and kids at School ..In the eighties at this very young age Jaso searched for rap music everywhere but could not find very much . He took influence from Rock Steady crew and RUN DMC.
Solid likes Australian hip hop. Solid loves American R&B like Destiny's Child, Alicia Keys, Usher, Bel Biv Devoe, and old school rap like Ice-T, Public Enemy, a tribe called quest, and lots of other artists.
Solid MC's Music can be described as hip hop / R&B / soul / funk / urban. He writes music from the heart, many of his songs are written as positive motivation for life, some of his songs are for entertainment and fun, and some songs have a strong political message.
In 2000 Solid MC realesed a CD called "The Adventures of Solid MC" episode 1. This was eight of Solid MC's favourite recorded tracks. My first CD has a wide variety of different rap styles, I'd been through a full on Adventure in life ! Going to hip hop clubs all the time, getting together with people just to have fun or make music or dance to music just for fun , get cipher circles going outside of clubs, hanging around at the beach in summer , Adelaide has had a good influence on my style ofmusic - says Solid MC.
