With an impressive body of work that encompasses television, film, comedy and theatre, Carmen Electra has emerged as one of Hollywood's most versatile personalities.
A native of the mid-west, Carmen grew up near Cincinnati, Ohio, and got her first break when a scout for 'Prince' spotted her fronting for a rap group in Los Angeles. She released a self-titled debut album for Prince's Paisley Park label in 1992 and produced a top 20 hit on dance charts with "Get on Up."
She has appeared in numerous films to date, some of which include the Warner Bros. Television movie "Sol Goode" and the indie film "Perfume", which made its debut at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. "Perfume" is directed by Michael Rymer and has an ensemble cast which includes Mariel Hemingway, Amber Valetta, Estella Warren, Peter Gallagher and Jeff Goldblum. Her other film credits include the box office smash "Scary Movie", "Get Over it", "The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human" opposite David Hyde Pierce and Nickelodeon's "Good Burger."
Segueing effortlessly between the big and small screen, Carmen co-hosted the MTV game show "Singled Out" with Chris Hardwick. She has become a favorite on the MTV Network and hosted "Carmen Electra's Hyper Mix" in Florida last year. Carmen was a series regular on "Hyperion Bay" as well as Baywatch. She has guest starred on a variety of prime-time comedies including "Mad TV," "All That," "Just Shoot Me," "Two Guys and A Girl, Comedy Central's "Viva Variety" "Off-Centre, "Baywatch Nights", and most recently the UPN comedy "Eve." This is, of course, in addition to her and Dave's hit reality show, "Till Death Do Us Part."
Carmen also continues to make special appearances as a part of "Pussycat Dolls Live," a new version of the show "The Pussycat Dolls" which launched in May 2002 at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip in LA. "The Pussycat Dolls" are a contemporary, burlesque cabaret act that was founded as an opening act for Johnny Depp's Los Angeles club, The Viper Room. Reminiscent of Berlin in the 1930's with its lavish costumes and wild styling, "The Pussycat Dolls" have a huge celebrity following. The show features a cast of the hottest music video dancers and has featured surprise guests such as Gwen Stefani, Christina Applegate, Brittany Murphy, Christina Aguilera and Charlize Theron. Carmen loved performing with the dolls so much that she then decided to form a stellar dance troup of her own, the infamous Bombshell Babes!
