At 27 years of age, mya rose has been gigging around the world for 11 years......been singing and writing music quite a bit longer....from huge stages to street corners, from Korea to England to California, she propells forward to get her music heard. so many amazing musicians/bands in and out of her life...never knowing what to expect, never knowing where she'll end up, her life turns into a song, and whoever is there at the moment will leave an impression on the story...
Mya just finished up (wrote, recorded, & produced) her cd: 'breaking free.' She built the studio a year ago, and after moving it around 4 times (some recordings were taken on her sail boat-Risky Business), she finally birthed it into the world. She kept this one goal in focus and worked really hard to finish her dream project. There are some wonderful musicians on this album and you should surely check it out!!
Mya Rose is booking up her schedule now for 2007, after taking a break from touring to finish up the cd. She resides in the Outer Banks, NC and plays steadily in the busy tourist months from april to november. This year she is planning an East Coast tour.
Steve Magliano, originally from Massachusetts, adds an eclectic dimension to the Mya Rose Band. He has played with various musicians and bands throughout his worldly travels. The blues based harps, jazzy sax, and dynamic vocals is thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all listeners.
Doug Leal adds to the group on occassion spicing the groove with his percussion kit.
The Mya Rose Band resides on the Outer Banks, NC. She runs open mic twice a week, plays solo, and hires others to accompany her. Her music is described as 'soulful vocals backed by rockin' folk with a hint of country and vibrant sax', playing her original music and some covers. Mya Rose sings and plays guitar from deep within her soul while striving to voice a difference, make others think, brighten someone’s day, and to use music as therapy.
