Born in Bklyn NY. I left the US & might not return. I'm not entirely a political exile, tho I do find what's become of the US to be life-threatening. Since the social climate there also doesn't promote the lot of artists-esp. those without a name- I thought it would be good if I tried to extend my reach over here in Vienna. Now I have to laugh, since, over here I've discovered something similar. The Viennese - who have a great cultural tradition-are generally not looking for new and foreign things and hold onto their money, except when it comes to a 'sure thing', meaning something Austrian and something charming'. If you read up on the young Mozart, you'll see he was also up against an exclusive elite back in the 18th century!My parents were socialists in the 30's and 40's, so quaked in their boots when Sen. McCarthy cranked up his witch hunt. Mom couldnt sign the loyalty oath. Naturally, being raised under such conditions led me to continue our family's 'outsider' tradition.I am an artist, have been painting non-objectively since 1960. My work is online for some time now, leading to some favorable happenings at unexpected moments. Over time there's been a scarcity of critical response, either good or bad! Glad to say: some more committed collectors have stepped forward recently. I know I could use a good agent here in the German-speaking realm and here I am, age 61!Americans aren't received with open arms over here in Europe right now. I don't wonder why either. Perhaps this tendency will reverse once Bush is gone. Now we seriously need American hearts and know-how to help save our world.
