Elli Rae

I'm Elli Rae (aka Francesca Shipley) Basically I'm a Singer/Songwriter from Birmingham. i go to SBC in Digbeth and study HND Professional Music. i have been playing guitar almost 3 years now, and have been singing since i was little. i play other instruments, which include drums, keyboard and clarinet. i write my own material as well as performing covers. I'm trying really hard to make something of myself with my music. its a big part of my life and no matter what i do i will always be involved in music. I'm mainly acoustic at the moment, but i want to branch out into some experimental electro, and start sampling and messing about with Cubase. maybe even get a band going so i can perform more challenging music. so let me know if your interested. I'm looking at Imogen Heap and Kate Nash as my main influences with my Electro style. I love their ideas and approach to music and even though my voice is very different from theirs i hope to add my own mark to this style using their influential style with it to mix with mine into something fresh and new.At the moment I'm working on a side project with my Dad. We are setting up a Function band so as we are able to do gigs with a full band set up and i can get more experience. As of yet we don't really have a name, but we have a Myspace, and have decided the best name to go with is The Elli Rae Band at the moment LoL.Anyway if you've got this far go and have a look at the band page.
