About Me

Working for the exposure of all things beautiful, Genelle Brooks lives by the words of her beloved grandmother, "This is not the dress rehearsal. So, live it to the fullest!" She has built a solid portfolio servicing an eclectic mix of clients. As an image development consultant and writer, Genelle has written, produced and styled fashion stories, created red carpet looks for entertainers, outfitted executives for special appearances, and developed marketing, publicity and imaging campaigns for clients in art, entertainment, and the nonprofit sector. Coming into the business under the guidance of notable entertainment publicist turned producer, Gwen Priestley, Genelle has contributed to the marketing campaigns of a variety of entertainment icons as well as consumer brands. With offices in New York and Los Angeles, her resume includes work for Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Vivica Fox, Angie Stone, Holly Robinson-Peete, Kimberly J Brown, Lauren Conrad, Usher, Upscale Magazine, People Magazine, NRG Magazine, FREE Magazine, The 100 Magazine, the Museum for African Art-NY and a host of others. Genelle is a graduate of Howard University.

Movies:

Not such a movie buff because that hobby takes a lot of time, but these are some of my favorites: As Good As It Gets (overall story and actors), Amelie (story and style), Coming to America (classic comedy!), School Daze (great dialogue, music, actors...though acting was comme ci comme ca, and i'm a 4th generation HBCU grad;-), Manhattan (beautifully shot and very wordy in a cool Woody Allen way), Cooley High (great throwback), Boyz In the Hood (Cali and genre classic), the 5 Heartbeats (just an all around great movie) and I'm sure more to come.

Books:
