About Me

MUSIC IS ESSENTIAL! I'm always looking for cool new music to chill to, so if you're stopping by to check out the page, please leave a band or song that you love under my comments. I will try to return the favor! Thx :)"; I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

My Interests

MUSIC, reading, whistling (I've been told I'm a mean whistler), writing, the BEACH (especially during winter/fall), hiking and anything else that lets me out in the sun, getting lost in art museums...

I'd like to meet:

MASSIVE ATTACK...They are musical genuises. I've never before heard music with such complexity and layering. And somehow, even though there are all these amazing sounds, it never feels overloaded or as if the sounds are competing. As you're listening it flows so easily and yet at the same time you realize that this has all been carefully orchestrated to lead you up to some integral moment in the music....Absolutely fu**ing amazing!TRENT REZNOR...With the release of every NIN album I respect Trent Reznor more. While every album has that unique Reznor sound, no two sound alike. NIN's music has evolved so much over the years and yet every album contains a freshness and vitality--an edge--not seen in most artists out there today.

Music:

Massive Attack, NIN, Radiohead, Jay-Z, Portishead, Nina Simone, Esthero, Tricky, Zero 7, Fiona Apple, Bjork, PJ Harvey, DJ Krush, Madita, Cibo Matto, UNKLE, DJ Shadow, Mono, Robin Thicke, Hooverphonic, Groove Armada, Sade, Jazzanova, Garbage, Brazilian Girls, Olive, Soundgarden, John Lee Hooker, Cat Power, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, George Gershwin, Gotan Project, Christina Aguilera, Sneaker Pimps **when they had Kelli Ali as lead singer**, corny 80's music (yes I do own Hall and Oates' Greatest Hits album, no kidding!), Phil Collins/Genesis, Morcheeba, Stevie Wonder, Luscious Jackson, Beth Orton, Coldplay, Corinne Bailey Rae, Dido, Thievery Corporation, anything mellow...

Movies:

Amelie, The Matrix, Stealing Beauty, 28 Days Later, The Transporter, Stigmata, Underworld, The Golden Child, Coming to America, cheesy horror flicks, anything with Gene Kelly, The Cell, Kill Bill (vols. 1 and 2), Elizabethtown, Volver, The Bourne Trilogy, La Femme Nikita...

Television:

House!

Books:

Veronika Decides to Die and The Alchemist both by Paulo Coelho, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, poetry by Pablo Neruda, Sylvia Plath and Maya Angelou, anything on Italian history, the Knights Templar or Mary Magdalene; I find myself intrigued by the controversy and drama surrounding these subjects...

Heroes:

Everyone who stands up for what is right, regardless of the consequences!

My Blog

Oh Man...

In my more reflective moments I sometimes think that you gave birth to me-- At least the version of me that stands before you now. And just when I think I would love to hate you, I wonder how I can p...

Insomniac ramblings...

Is it possible to miss that which you cannot remember? To remember those things which have not happened? To relive moments that should-have-been, could-have-been, but never were? Is it possible to sur...

the break-up??

The beep echoes on as scenes from our eternity together flash through my mind. The silence draws out the tension interminably as I listen&and wait... To speak my one line of greatness-- To utter the w...

Role Playing...

I know that all that follows in this blog may seem ridiculously philosophical and quite probably not make a lick of sense, but bear with me on this because I need to get it off my chest... Unfortunate...

The noise of my generation...

With every passing year I see my generation getting louder and louder.  Noise everywhere I turn.  We are yelling or talking loud at one another or have the music in our cars turned so high t...

Giving a musical genius his due :)

OK, so I was listening to my ipod this morning when In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins came on.  I got incredibly pumped when the drums kicked in at the end of the song.  (His drum...
