About Me

Patricia Lamkin is an actor, playwright, and musician. As an actor she has performed professionally in college, regional theatre, outdoor drama, and repertory musicals throughout the southeast. She moved to Philadelphia, PA in late 1991 where she worked in many facets of theatre, including teaching children using interactive theatre, puppetry, writing commissioned museum plays, teaching high school theatre, singing in a professional caroling group, strolling the streets of Old City Philadelphia as an 18th century boardinghouse keeper, and writing and performing plays for the Brick Playhouse. Patricia moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2000, and completed a two year Meisner acting program at the Joanne Baron/DW Brown Studio in Santa Monica in 2003.

Philadelphia roles include Elea Avon in Rush Limbaugh in Night School, Marianne in The Miser, Carnelle in The Miss Firecracker Contest, and Lucrezia in The Mandrake. Plays written for the Brick include The Trestle, Teasing and Tarzan and Jane Share Their Erotic Jungle Fantasies. In 1998 her one act Last Wishes won the Brick's prestigious Best of IT award. In 2003 Patricia performed the role of the Wise Woman (Captain) in the Dancing Barefoot Production of An Appalachian Twelfth Night at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles. The LA Times hailed the production, "...a toe tapping, laugh spreading good time," and Curtain Up called Patricia's keynote Captain's speech a performance delivered with "devastating straightforwardness." Patricia was a featured vocalist and played guitar, harmonica and dulcimer in the show band Reverend Karl and the Pikeville Pickers. The soundtrack for An Appalachian Twelfth Night is available on itunes where Patricia sings lead vocals in the June Carter classic, Wildwood Flower.
Currently cast in the Next Stage Theatre production of Hollywood Stories, Patricia is getting to work her acting and writing chops all in one show! She is a member of Playwrights6 as an actor, and enjoys being included in their wonderful Monday night workshops for new plays. Her current creative writing projects include a rock musical with musician Sean Galuszka and a young adult novel.Patricia resides in the Hollywood Hills with her filmmaker boyfriend. She enjoys hiking and watching the new Dr. Who!
