Meka's Story Lately people have been asking "Meka, What's your story?" Honestly, I really never had one to tell. All my problems, my stories, my break-up's to make-up's are in my music. I let my music define me. Love it and listen or leave it alone!
I started singing at the age of 10! Back then it was fun, back then it was exciting, back then I wasn't doing it for money or fame. I was doing it because I loved everything about singing.I have won over 15 talent contest, toured with the Manahttans as their opening act in 1998. I performed on the Apollo stage 3x and did the live TV show appearance once. Those experiences humbled me and showed me that there was a great mass of talent all over the globe! I recently did the "Gimme the Mic" TV show on FOX 50 in Raleigh, NC!

A lot of artist say that their music comes from their life and the people that surround them. That's true but my music comes from those nights I was sitting up worrying and waiting, tears streaming down my face with a pen in one hand, holding my music book in the other. Those moments in my life hurt but without those moments I wouldn't have some of the hits that I have today.
