About Me

Got the mouth of a sailor and the mind of a sinner.

My Interests

writing, language, reading, music, sleeping, my cats and family, ink, art, random and useless information. I speak French and get strep or bronchitis frequently because I'm told I have very big tonsils. I like old things and...am socially anxious. I want a library someday. Just a nerd, really.

I'd like to meet:

a polar bear in Oklahoma...

Music:

All over the place...From Christian Death or Rancid or the Subhumans to the Alkaline Trio and Lawrence Arms, Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, Billie Holiday to Johnny Mercer. Lars.And.The.Bastards. Lots of stuff. Ask, and the answer shall come to you in a dream...

Movies:

All over the place again: Boondock Saints is one of the all time favorites, Grindhouse presents Planet Terror is the new favorite, Meet Joe Black, The Omen, Night of the Living Dead, Tim Burton Films, Guy Richie films, Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz...to name a few...

Television:

Dead Like Me, The Twilight Zone, The Colbert Report (the man is a god...), Kingdom Hospital, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Anderson Cooper 360, the list continues...

Books:

So many, too many to list! Favorite authors include Neil Gaiman and David Sedaris. I have discovered a love for Angela Carter, sadly most of her books are out of print and I can't find any to read more. I love magical realism, satire, and sarcasm. I like old classics and literature from all over the place. Ghost and Vampire stories from Victorian era and before. Robert Louis Stevenson and H.P. Lovecraft...Antoine de Saint-Exupéry...I have a B.A. in English and love literature so my list goes on and on. I hate doing things like this-I feel like I forget important stuff.

Heroes:

Writers and old world gods. Voudou mambos/oungans (people who can carry about tons of knowledge and application in their heads) I want to know more and more, and I learn more and more each day. It's impossible to choose a few heroes--there are no new stories, after all--just new twists.
