Thank goodness that's over with.

About Me

Tall drink of water, as my wife says, hollow as a reed. I live an extremely full life...in my head. It's awesome in there, except when it's scary as all fuck.
When I'm not The Nighthawk (or Dan), I double as The Lounge Monkey, fully-functional DJ. Parties, weddings, cocktail hours, what-all. Visit that part of me at http://www.theloungemonkey.com

My Interests

Music, get-rich quick schemes, trying to figure out how to be a man of leisure forever, going to the movies, eating grilled cheese sandwiches, baking bread to make grilled cheese sandwiches with, building shit, playing my PSP.

I'd like to meet:

A real person who has actually used a get-rich-quick scheme and gotten rich. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants? While you're here, why don't you try this one and tell me what happens: https://paydotcom.com/r/11804/interstate80/974723/

Music:

I like music. Lots and lots and lots of it.I highly recommend the International Mixtape Project here on myspace. Blow your mind and your horizons will automatically expand.

Basically, you pay $10 for a year, send out one mixtape per month to an assigned recipient, and receive a mixtape from someone who was assigned you. A great way to get exposed to new stuff and stick your foot into the global pond.
And while you're at it, visit my DJ site at http://www.theloungemonkey.com

Television:

The great news is that we don't have TV reception where I live. No cable, either. We'd have to get a dish and we're just not that interested. What can I tell you? To be honest, I don't get the feeling that we're missing much. When something has great buzz, we rent it on DVD. Much cheaper.

Books:

It's a short list: Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, by Hunter S. Thompson. It's biblical to me. I read it like the gospel.

Heroes:

I covet the speed of The Flash (so time would be less of an issue), Batman's brooding genius (because I've got the brooding - I just need the other part), Aquaman's telepathy with animals (so I could figure out what it is that my damn dog wants), and Superman's unwavering moral compass (because this country needs more spine).
