About Me

Did You Know:Nearly 1 in 4 children live on less than $1 a day.400 million children have no access to clean water. (That is one of every 5 children in the world.)30,000 children die each day from poverty. An estimated 200 million children live in the streets.1.2 million children are trafficked each year. (For labour or as sex slaves.)...and that just covers the kids. Their parents and grandparents are living in the same conditions...if they're lucky enough to still be alive.Mark Twain---Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions...Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great...Peace is our real nature. We spoil it. What is required is that we stop spoiling it. We are not going to create peace anew. For instance, originally there is nothing but space in a room. We fill it up with various objects. If we want space, all we need do is remove all those objecrts, and we get space. In the same way, if we remove all the rubbish, all the thoughts, from our minds, peace will appear. What is obstructing the peace has to be removed. Peace is the only reality. Ramana MaharshiThe Art of Peace begins with you. Work on yourself and your appointed task in the Art of Peace. Everyone has a spirit that can be refined, a body that can be trained in some manner, a suitable path to follow … Foster peace in your own life and then apply the Art to all that you encounter. Morihei UeshibaPeace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. Martin Luther King, Jr.I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace.Hey if you know me -you know I like to talk-You know I can say the same thing thousands of different ways. I tend to not act my age-I haven't even started to grow up yet. I figured that when i was a parent I would grow up-that didn't happen-now I figure I better do it when I become a Nana-but I have a feeling I may just be known as Naughty Nana...Is that really such a bad thing? I am a contrary person because while I am silly and can ramble I have an incredibly sensitive altruistic side that just wants peace and happiness for all who are in my life and I am searching for my own wisdom and inner peace. Life is a journey they say. Especially now that I have found out i have something wrong with my heart-Yes I have a weak link but if I strengthen my mind and body through diet and excercise and peace I can have a long and rewarding life.I am always open to getting to know all sorts of people. So if you are not looking for drama and a place to hate then perhaps we can be myspace friends...a href="http://s207.photobucket.com/albums/bb35/spare300/?acti on=view&current=LOVEBOWLING.jpg" target="_blank"I bowl...alot ...My friends...My Kids...bowl alot too...Yep...we bowl...It is a night out-away from the dishes and laundry and We have tons of fun doing it and we love the competition and best of all we have met some really awesome friends. I have also met some very nice pro bowlers at various Jr Gold, Teen Masters and PBA tournaments (and there are some not so nice ones as well-lol). I am in 3 leagues and then I do some A2Z and USBC tournaments---HOWEVER ---The most important thing in my life though are MY 3 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. Lauren ElizabethLauren is my humanitarian who teaches me to be open and to not judge. She empowers me with her viewpoints and schools me on what is going on in our world when it comes to woman and children, poverty and sickness, political injustices. I am proud of who she has become and what her future holds for her.I love you Lauren. My son Matthew John -my sleepyhead---so easygoing and affectionate and sweet natured. I Love you Matthew. My youngest Kristen Michelle-my little preemie who was so precious to us and still is. I'd like to meet:

others who believe in the law of attraction. We attract those that we wish to attract and I do not wish to attract anyone who has an unkind soul.KARMAThe First Law of Karma - If you want positive results in your business and life, you need to cause others to have positive results. The Second Law of Karma - To make up for bad karma, you don't need to be Ghandi or Mother Theresa. Just have nice thoughts and do simple acts. The Third Law of Karma - If you never do good things, you'll never have good things done to you.The Fourth Law of Karma - All the mean, self-serving things you do will come back to get you. Even if nobody witnesses them.others who believe in this quote: Perhaps we're too embarrassed to change or too frightened of the consequences of showing that we actually care. But why not risk it anyway? Begin Today. Carry out a random act of seemingly senseless kindness, with no expectation or reward or punishment. Safe in the knowledge that one day, someone somewhere might do the same for you." -Princess Dianaand another one:""If being sane is thinking there's something wrong with being different...I'd rather be completely fucking mental."- Angelina Jolie"Thank you Lauren for opening my eyes...Allowing me to see Goodness in what I perceived as bad ...and allowing me to see evil in what I thought was good...

I would like to meet others who are sensitive and caring and make me laugh. Kind-Kindred Spirits-

MySpace Glitter GraphicsI would like to meet my dad again to tell him what he meant to me and how there is not one day that goes by that I do not cherish and hold onto my memories. When i look out at night I see my dad in the twinkling stars Stuff for your blog!

Dad, I will be seeing you in all the old familiar places.(10/30/2001) We are taking care of mom-Friends please pray for her as she struggles with her memory. We recently celebrated her 81st birthday. She is staying with me now-It is hard sometimes - my life is not my own-things are different but ya know what-life is not a playground-we have responsibilities to those we love.I would like to meet God to ask him what I can do to make our country a better place-cure the world of hatred and apathy, sickness and disease.Wouldn't it be nice if we could all restore love, honor and compassion and pass it on to all we meet. So, yeah I would like to meet people who like to "PASS IT Forward"

Books:

Nov-Dec. Just started Ken Follett's book The Pillars of the Earth and it is so descriptive I almost felt like I was actually in 12th century England watching a hanging. I hope I continue to like it since it has almost 1,000 pages!!! A few books I want to read next are: Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi about women who meet secretly to read American Novels and how it shapes their lives, A Long way Gone by Ishmael Beah-his story of being a soldier boy in Africa and how the UNICEF got him to America, The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin about the 9 justices of the Supreme Court today And Women in Jerusalem by AB Yehoshia. If you have read any of these let me know!I like many books-ones that make you think. I have had trouble reading since my dad died-not sure why. recently read Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult which is very interesting and her book "19 minutes" which was also really profound and well written.slso by her I read the Pact and "My Sister's Keeper"... Daughter of Fortune by Isabelle Allende was awesome-Loved the Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseini and Thopusand Splendid Sons which was also well written and interesting-

Heroes:

My dad-Alan John Plank He was an amazing dad/husband/human being. He met my mom during World War 2-He was attending college when he was drafted-because he had over a 160 IQ and spoke like 8 languages he was put in the intelligence-He met my mom in England where she was a secretary to a general. She decided to enlist when her cousin Reggie who was a pilot was killed. She was so angry when that happened. So they met at a dance and it was extremely romantic - their story. He had to go to Germany since he knew German-He wrote to her and she fell in love with him through his letters-the box of them are in the attic. The train he took back to England to see her was not stopping at Besingstoke(?) so as it slowed he jumped off-. He asked her dad to marry her and he came back to America to do what he had to do to get out of the army and to marry my mom-he bought her a wedding dress and other stuff since in England everything was rationed and he was very affluent . My Grandad told my mom-don't be heartbroken if he doesnt return like so many Yanks did -but he did return. After the marriage and honeymoon in Scotland they came to America-My mom a 20 yr old war bride and my dad a 23 yr old veteran going back to college. He became a teacher and he attended Columbia for his Masters and Doctorate. He became a Principal and he loved what he did. He was an only child and my mom was one of like 8 and he so wanted a big family like she had-so they had 4 by the time my mom was 26 and he 29. I came much later-He called me his extra dividend. I had an amazing childhood with a dad who was home at 5 pm and summers when we would go to England for the summer. When I was 12 my dad had a massive heart attack and he was in Glen Cove Hospital for a few months-He almost died so I am grateful I did have him for another 30 years. I am alot like my dad personality wise. I am nowhere as kind and good as he was but I am like him in so many ways-Well i am rambling and not doing him justice here really but it is all in my heart which is over-flowing with love and respect right now-I miss you daddy with every inch of my body and every ounce of my soul. He was truely beautiful.God Bless all the men and women who put their lives in jeopardy for me and my family and our country everyday. And How about everyday people who work for the better of humanity-they stay away from gossip and rumors and talking bad about each other. They are kind and understanding and do not judge-These are people I admire and respect.
