Music ( kinda obvious that one ). Motorbikes - Mainly streetfighter style - with an attitude. Electronics, when I'm not drinking, playing geetarh or tinkering with my bike, I build valve amp's and repair stuff that other ham fisted and heavy footed muso mates have broke, in return for a couple of pints usually ( you listening Glyn? ).
Anyone who can get rid of the labour government.
Got into rock music when a mate got us tickets to go see Motorhead on the Overkill tour back in 1978. I was 13 and had never even heard of them til that point. Talk about baptism of fire. Got into the usuall bands of that era and before, Deep purple, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Iron Maiden - before they went all theatrical and ridiculous, and Jimi Hendrix who I view as a pure genius who has yet to be equalled for shear talent and vision - drug fuelled or otherwise. Spent a good while listening to Jethro Tull when I should have taken more notice of The Stone Roses while they were happening, still, better late than never. John Squire brought a classic blues rock style to the Manchester dance scene .When I write stuff for our band I draw influence from a variety of bands and try to be a little different to all of them. My biggest critic is Paul (Mad Dog) Maddock, our bass player, who will basically veto's anything that sounds too classic rock and tells me to be more inventive and gritty (bass players eh). Suppose you could say my style lies somwhere between Metallica's Hetfield / Hammett and Tom Morello with a bit of Foo Fighters, but lacking the natural talent of any of them.
Pulp Fiction. Henry V - with K.Brannah and the R.S.C. Don't watch a lot of stuff 'cos it bores me. I could be playing music instead.
Discovery Channel, Globe Trekker, A Place in the Sun, The Simpsons, South Park. Other than that TV bores me.
Terry Pratchett, Tom Holt any other fantasy funny's, WW1 factual books - when you read those it makes you realise just what a living hell those guy's went through to defend our, and the French nations.
Bob Geldof gets my vote every time, there aren't many prepared to go to the lengths he does to raise his voice for what he truelly believes in.
