About Me

I'm Cathy. Just waiting for some more motivation. Anyone got any?
You can get or hear my first CD at http://cdbaby.com/cd/veloura.
my second album is not available any more unless you write to me and beg me for a copy.
KINS, my third album, is available to download here: http://www.cometkaze.com/veloura%20caywood.html
check out cometkaze records while you're there and listen to some of the other stuff because it's heart-pullingly wonderful! I especially like the "Matt, Mike and Corey" section and the songwriter's club section.
The Myers-Briggs personality test labeled me a INFP and I totally agree. However, I am almost always punctual, so they're wrong about that one.
I have been called "dry", "weirdo", "eccentric", "creative", "dorkas", "a big dope", "perceptive", "quiet", "not mainstream", "ill-mannered", "crazy", "not afraid", "figity", "unique", "dumb shit", "credible", "like totally out of it", "mild-mannered", "selfish", "appropriately serious", "frustrating", "responsible", "succinct", "kind," "not funny", "so cute", "quirky", "slightly annoying", "sexy", "confident", "intimidating", "more academic", "trustworthy", "spacey", "mean", "nice", "shy" and having "a whole other world of Cathy that no one will never know about". I don't know if I agree with all of those, but that's what the people say. And as of late, a lot of people have been calling me "CALM" and having a "CALMING EFFECT", which I find amusing because inside I am never calm.

My Interests

buns, soft material, oblivion, distance, the empathy model, colorful patterns, cat faces, squirrels eating, chipmunk forests, the noble old, keeping my 1987 Jeep Cherokee named JP forever until I die, slave narratives, coupons for lunch, listening to interviews, feeling giddy, rhyming, talking to myself, how to not look mad all the time, beans, textbooks, feminism, old country music, talking to strangers on the phone while they are freaking out about something, singing, dancing real close, brown, teen angst, recording, writing songs, reading interviews, walking, listening, making up my own song-poems, cryin' steel guitar, giant photos of trees, looking at the sky, making a lot of noise, singing my thoughts as I walk around the house, spacing out, birdfeeding, collecting firewood, Corey when he pretends to munch
Also, if you want to know where this wonderful cat and fractal art is coming from that I use on here, go to www.lindabucklin.com. Linda Bucklin is one of my favorite artists ever!!!

I'd like to meet:

a talking animal. you included

My favorite things to read are historical narratives and everyday people's diaries but sometimes you can convince me to read something else.

Heroes:

people who used to live in sod houses and can jump from dimension to dimension. As well as people who hold hands with colors and spill gravel from their throats as it turns to gold while they cover you in fur and tell you everything's gonna be ok.
