My name is Jeremy, I'm a teacher and musician with my roots in gospel, rock and roll and classical Indian chant/folk music. I have lived, taught and made music in North and Central America as well as Asia. Volunteering with the Art of Living Foundation for the past ten years has created many opportunities to travel, teach and make music. I love to sing, play my Taylor 710 CE acoustic guitar (named Kripa) and also play piano. Musically, I have been drawn to the traditional call and response style of sacred songs of India known as Bhajans and yet have maintained a love for the popular Jam Band scene in America Thanks Jerome John Garcia.* * * * *My latest musical offering, Sound in Silence was released in India in June, 2005. It's a collection of classical Indian chant/folk songs mixed with rock and roll melodies. Various trips to India, countless Art of Living Satsangs and a dynamic, powerful and graceful singer named Divya Prabha all gave rise to my current influence of Bhajans, which is the Sanskrit word for sharing. For anyone who has attended one of my concerts, these songs would hold a lot of meaning. For those who haven't, well, they just might catch your ear. Enjoy a couple of the songs from the CD on here, no worries of you think its weird - I'm also just warming up to the vibe.* * * * *I'm currently writing material for my next CD, Back To Taylor Town, which I will record here in Bangkok in June with a group of local musicians. I'm really excited about this project and continue to find inspiration every moment for it. One of the most inspiring was last year's Silver Jubilee Celebration for the Art of Livings 25th Anniversary. Billed as the International Conference on Human Values, this mega-event saw 2.5 million people from over 150 countries gather together for the same purpose One Love, One Heart, One World. So many came together to join in the merriment, including a 3,800 person South Indian Orchestra. The music in itself was unparalleled, from Divya Prabha and the South Indian Orchestra, to Kris Keyes closing out the three day festival singing one of his new songs, accompanied by the Bangalore Youth Choir simply amazing. Kris is also an Art of Living teacher and an international musician who is currently on tour in India. We teamed up in India during the holidays for some fun concerts and recoding sessions. You can check out Kris Keyes from this page.* * * * *Well, if you're still with me, I look forward to meeting many new friends on here and learning as much as I can from all of you. Send me a message or stop by Bangkok and come to one of my shows.Cheers!
