Once upon a time, in little country full of wooden shoes and tulips, just below sea level, there lived a 14 year old boy. The boy didnt like to go to school, he didnt like to clean his room, he didnt like to ride his horse. All the little boy liked was to play with his turntables. Music was his great passion in live. He made compilation tapes for friends and family. He learned himself to mix records. He performed at birthday and school parties. And through the years he decided to dedicate himself entirely to real Soulfull House Music.
One day when the boy got older, he decided to participate in a DJ contest. Finally the big day was there, the boy was very excited and even a bit nervous. But there was nothing to worry about. The crowd was extremely enthusiastic and the boy won the contest!
Its time to conquer the world! the boy thought to himself. And so he did. He hooked up with Club Risk and toured around the low countries. All around the country people heard about the enthusiastic DJ performance of the boy. And next thing he knew he played at Panama (Amsterdam), Now-Wow (Rotterdam), Powerzone (Amsterdam), Monza (Utrecht), Winkel van Sinkel (Utrecht),Club Rotterdam, Cruise Terminal (Rotterdam), and flew to Prague, Lisbon, Barcelona, Cape Town and Oslo.
The boy spent most of his time at the record shop. He listened to new music all day long. When the sun had risen and set for about a 100 times, the boy had an idea: I have to make my own records! And so he did. He made an unofficial remix of Erick-Es Boogie Down. This record and other ones soon got major support of famous DJs like Erick-E, Roog, Lucien Foort and Fedde le Grand.
Yes, the boy thought, this is a dream come true!
This boy is better known as DJ Youri Donatz!
