About Me

Born in Denmark on a sunny May Day (I'd like to believe so),1977. Raised by my American mother and Danish father, alongside my four siblings in a Danish remote village, (maybe that's why I was so keen to move abroad and explore the big bad world). Music means the world to me and that's why I have choosen to dedicate my life to the artform. I have studied music in Denmark as well as the UK for the past ten years, and have just completed my BA in Jazz & Contemporary music at Leeds College of Music.I am currently working on original material as well as collaborating with other musicians. At the moment I am working with the Leeds based Hip Hop band; The Sound of The Baskervilles, a musical fussion of strong Hip Hop beats, funk and jazz harmonies.I am also involved in the more jazz related scene in Leeds, and am currently working alongside some fine young jazz musicians, giving new life to classic Blue Note recordings, exploring the relations of jazz and rock; John Scofield and Jimi Hendrix, as well as interpretating John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter classics.. Influences: The list of influences is a long one, but I am generally inspired by creative, experimental, innovative and honest musicians!
Sounds Like: My voice and sound has been described as being very unique - A combination of a deep, dark, yet light and airy at times, soulfull sound, with an undertone of melancholic moods.I fuse my Scandinavian sound and musical background with the more American sound of Jazz, Blues and Soul - a sound which at first seems out of place, but once the listeners has warmed to it, they keep coming back for more.I use my talent as a vocalist in Jazz - anything from Nu Jazz, Contemporary Jazz to Standard Jazz, Latin, Neo Soul, Funk and Pop music.
