Born and raised in Chicago, IL. Cory aka C-Recks has always been a fan of good music ever since being a shorty. At an early age I can recall being amazed by the music of Eric B & Rakim, LL Cool J, and Run DMC. I remember me and my older brother [Dre] would play those tapes over and over. But it never got played out to us.From that early age his thirst for Good Music only escalated. Between 1987-1995 my Fam lived out west in Cali. But me and my bro we listened to everything from N.W.A. to Common (Common Sense Back Then), 2Pac, and Notorious B.I.G. So whatever was hot we had their tape.Eventually a true love for music would lead him to pick up a pen himself. In 1996 when my fam moved back to the Chi is when I officially started writing rhymes that were actually half way decent. I decided to take the name C-Recks and from there sky was the limit.From there his dues were paid through small stint within local crews, various battles, and talent showcases. Eventually, a road block was hit; he had tight rhymes but no beats. That led him to begin mastering another craft: Production. In 2001 I invested in an MPC 2000XL. Id never used one before except maybe once at my guys crib. My first beats were garbage, but before I knew it I was actually creating beats that sounded like something.Before he knew it his addiction quickly moved from writing rhymes to producing. He then formed Catch Reck Productions and began selling beats and giving away beats to other artists. By then writing and rhyming had quickly moved to the back ground. However, he still occasionally would write and guest appear on different artists songs.Creation of his website (www.catchreckproductions.com) in 2003 allowed him to display and sell is beats world wide. But eventually he would bring the focus back to the crib. I wanted to concentrate on working with unsigned artists from Chicago. You gotta take care of home first Ya Digg??Right now the focus is on putting out the best and hottest music possible Im on the song or just doing the beat for one of the artists I work with its gotta be hot.
