SASkilla is my stage/street name first of all i am not gona start writing on this bio saying saskilla did this and saskilla achieved that talking of myself in third person i will explain my achievements from my own recollections... i believe this all started along time ago at a primary school age with early music videos that took my attention after that i took interest in the entertainment industry and my mother pushed me and got me involved in some theatre groups here they honed my talent for attention.as every great performer is an attention seeker at heart, i learned to take my attention seeking behaviour in the classroom and transfer it to the stage after many performances i was scouted for popular soap opera EASTENDERS while doing a rendition of shakespears OTHELLO of course in leading role. Because at this time i was proffesionally playing soccer at a team in the youth squad so i did'nt at the time see the purpose of me pursuing acting as a career as at the time i was on my way to becoming a proffesional soccer star, i later had problems and soccer did'nt work out for me.. So after this i was spotted by a modelling agency PLUSH FASHIONS INC. i did quite alot of work with them over a year and a half and due to my mothers insistance on travelling all over the world i encountered people from different races,religious backgrounds and cultures different to my own. this enhanced my perceptions of the world an the people within it and brought a differnt perspective to my view of the world and my place within it. It also gave me the determination and focus to pursue any goal i wanted as i had encountered on my travels poverty,struggle and suffering on a level i had never seen before. this made me appreciate who i was where i was born and how fortunate i had been thus meaning failure was now NOT AN OPTION. after this pretty boy experience i started mcing to then what we called garage at this point i was only 15 i wasnt very good at it at first as previously i used to rap not the best of rappers but i was better at it than i was garage, in these early years i would bite bars from better known mc's like n.a.s.t.y crew and o.t crew in the school playground. By the time i started college i took mcing more serious wrote my own rhymes an i clashed everyday and built up a reputation in my area as the best this spread to other parts of south london and my name was hott, i took part in a clash at a rave in east london club EQ in my first year of college still 16 i was asked by MAJOR ACE then a TITAN in the game compared to me to join his crew SPECIAL DELIVERY also at the same rave MAXWELL D a legend in my eyes at the time took my number and took interest in my talents.I had only been mcing proffesionally for about 5 or 6 months and in my head at the time this was major progress for a 16 year old. after this i was featured alongside my fellow crew member BOYA on the most popular underground dvd of all time LORD OF THE DECKS 2 here i showcased my talent of street batteling, the popularity i recieved after this was unbelievable many people took an interest in me. I had officially played my part in the new genre and cemented my place alongside boya in GRIME HISTORY. But yet all of this was'nt enough for me i wanted more knowledge more fame more attention like a TRUE ATTENTION SEEKER, so i began to go to vocal group auditions with my long time friend VB AKA VIDAL and got initiated into two groups the 1st one set-up by universal records but we later disbanded after not getting signed at the labels showcase.. after that i joined a second with VIDAL again by now my understanding of how english music was to be presented and packaged was better an i took more of a proffesional approach in my craft. during being involved in this group i won a mcing competition on the radio to join a well known garage crew NEW BRAND FLEX on dejavu 92.3 FM radio, this once again drew my attention to grime music and Ritchie Montana the Creator of the crew brought me in as the 1st new generation Mc of the camp and put me in charge of the affairs of Mc's joing the crew so i brought to the table Likle P and Boya as my first candidates and soon after i scouted a young talent in my area NOW known as TINIE TEMPAH and gave him his 1st big break and brought him in aswell jus 15 at the time i saw the potential. I was now juggling a male vocal group and a garage collective on radio at teh same time i chose the route of grime as thats where my heart lay and decided i would make it my mission to raise the bar in grime concerning stage performance recording techniqes and proffesinalism. To broaden my knowledge of the game to even greater levels i embarked on work experience with SONY BMG i learnt many tricks of the trade an secrets of the industry at this point, i began work with signed ARTIST LADY SOVERIEGN an performed alongside her at victoria park infront of a crowd of more than 12,000 people after this point i performed at all the big gigs for some months.. this brought me to the attention of WILEY well known grime mc who asked me to join ROLLDEEP CREW who were at this time the biggest in GRIME itself i took the opportunity to enhance myself but neva leaving NU BRAND FLEXXX but even the mighty ROLLDEEP this was'nt enough to quench my thirst as soon after straying away i helped out in the development of an Independant Label TOPSHOTS RECORDS, this is where my Bond with then NEW member STRIVER Productions was built as we both recorded artist made mix cd's and carved a blueprint for us to follow. The studio we worked in was unfortunately robbed and me and striver lost a years amount of work this broke our spirit but we bounced back and striver produced a hit with the independant release of a slow grime single with up and coming singer chanel called ''dreamin'' with well known grime artist Mr Wong and myself..The video was hugely popular and reached number 8 in the channel u charts it wa the benchmark as the 1st slowjam grime song ever on terrestrial T.V... I did another video with other member of NU BRAND likle pee a track called PUSSYPHAT controversial and never properly released but got a huge following on rwd magazine website topping the online video charts for a year with 100,000 views and growing. i then began the GASH BY THE HOUR project teaming up with BOYA once again creating the BIGGEST UNDERGROUND tune of 2006 i have toured half of the UK and europe also.
