The Story

I was raised in various small towns across Oklahoma, moving often due to my parents occupations. I’ve always dreamed of a vocalist career, and learned to sing along side my folks at church functions and small events wherever they were living. At a young age I was recruited to sing at weddings and social gatherings for members of the churches I attended. Living in Oklahoma, I was also influenced greatly by country music, which brings us to today and my dream for the future.
When I turned 21 in the year 2000, I was asked to record background vocals for a Oklahoma area cabaret artist which consisted of mainly lounge music. The work I did on the album brought me more recognition and I was asked to perform in clubs around Oklahoma. I quickly became popular in Oklahoma City, recieving bookings most every weekend to sing energetic country tunes and mesmerizing country ballads. Every club I’ve performed in asked the same question: "When are you going to release an album?"
In March of 2002 I independantly recorded a debut album in Branson, Missouri, and in April the album "MY LOVE" was released. Previously available at my performances, various small shops in Oklahoma City & Tulsa, and on the internet, "My Love" has proved to sell very well and has boosted my listening audience. In May 2002 Houston, Texas radio station KPFT FM played the title cut of the album on air, and reported to have very good response. The "My Love" album has since been released two additional times, the final release was in 2003.
In June of 2003 I recorded a second album, a live recording in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was pleased to take part in the Annual Diversity Celebration for Tulsa. "Matthew Heath-Fitzgerald Live" was greeted with much response and opened the door for many more bookings at clubs and rodeos around the country. It was in 2003 that I became a regular at clubs in Oklahoma like The PlayMor in Tulsa and The Copa in Oklahoma City.
By 2004 my schedule permitted little time for recording a new album, however, the need for another album was evident. I opted for recording my next album in the comfort of my home. The begining of 2004 found me recording tracks for my next album in my spare time. Early in 2004 I was asked to be opening act for Brian Black, a great voice and brother of country legend Clint Black, for the Cow Town Rodeo in Ft. Worth, Texas. I decided that this concert would be the perfect timing for the release of my latest album. So, on the evening of March 5th 2004, "Neon Rainbow" was released at my performance with Brian Black. "Neon Rainbow" has quickly become my best selling album to date.
Currently I’m regularly performing at Oklahoma City’s The Boom Boom Room. I have various dates in and around Oklahoma and Texas, so be sure to check out my schedule for upcomming dates! I’m also excited to announce the upcomming release of my first ever fully original song. I’m happy to be working in conjunction with Nocterminal who is co-writting lyrics and fully writing the "beats."
Currently I live with my partner Jason, in Krebs, Oklahoma and travel performing around the country. Unfortunetly I don’t have any past albums for sale, but always try to make my covers available for download.
