Women should be obscene and not heard.

About Me

Where to begin?I am working on my second degree, this time to be a teacher. I am a substitute teacher part time. The kids are usually very evil but I lay the smackdown.I love basketball. I am a huge Steve Nash fan. One day he will rule the world, and it will be a better place. Shoot baskets, not people! I also greatly admire Bill Walton and Charles Barkley. The reason I like them so much is not only because they are (or were) all great basketball players, but also because they are awesome people (or appear to be on radio and TV.) I like people who speak thier minds but don't do it to be obnoxious, get attention, or further thier own agendas. Therefore, while I love Earth as much as the next person, I really wish Al Gore would just shut up.Well...that quickly turned into a rant.I love reading and music, and am pretty open-minded about both, I like to think. I have my favorites but I always like to branch out. Most of my favorite music is from the 60's, but I'm expanding my repetoire.Dogs are the best creatures on earth (better than humans.) I had a black lab, Jazz, for many years but my family had to put her down this past December. A couple weeks ago we got a new black lab, Peyton, who was born during the SuperBowl and was named after Peyton Manning. That's about it for now...

My Interests

There are so many things that interest me: reading, knitting, ghosts, rock n' roll (yay-yuh!), NBA, beads, socks, puppies, old movies, scary movies, the 60's, history, wax museums, california, goldfish, darts, trees, small towns, football, video games, england, trampolines to name some.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

The Beatles, first and formost. If you don't like them, we probably shouldn't even bother talking about music. Other than that, I like sooo many things and I hear new things all the time. Old stuff, like the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkal, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Led Zepelin, Buddy Holly, etc; Classic pop songs that you can sing along with, from back in the day when Michael Jackson was black and unquestionably of the male gender. Showtunes that I can yell along with and pretend to be singing. Lounge singer-esque songs from the 50's and 60's. Coldplay and John Mayer. I like almost everything as long as it's not crappy and boring.

Movies:

I'm not a movie freak ... I like anything that makes me laugh. I like stupid-funny movies and sad-funny movies. I like romantic movies but I freakin' hate romantic comedies. I love love love old movies - anything with Cary Grant or James Stewart! *heart*

Television:

Silly things that make me laugh ... Adult Swim, the Simpsons, Family Guy ... other than that I really try to stay away because I get sucked in and it fries my brain.

Books:

I love books; they are my best friends. Harry Potter, Catch-22, She's Come Undone, A Wrinkle in Time, The Lovely Bones, everything by Helen Fielding or Nick Hornby, etc. etc. etc.

Heroes:

Esme Raji Codell. (Children's Reading Heroine.) www.planetesme.com ...and of course, Steve Nash.

I hold it to be the inalienable right of anybody to go to hell in his own way.
