About Me

During the 1977 summer, Christian Dargelos, bass player-singer and Frank Darcel, guitarist, formed a band which failed to be called "Les rats d'égoûts": Marquis de Sade . Thanks to classifieds, Pierre Thomas (future Private Jokes and future Marc Seberg ), drummer, joined the band. Alain Pottier complete the band with keyboards. After the first show, Philippe Pascal integrates the band, to mark it of his print. Not less than twelve lineups in four years for this band which will mark the time.Coming from Pentathal Lethally (where played Anzia, future Marquis de Sade and Marc Seberg ), Philippe Pascal brings also its bass player, Michel Rouillé, who will be in time the guitarist. Daniel Paboeuf (who plays then with, amongst others, Anches Doo Too Cool ) arrives for the recording of the first 45t, " Air Tight Cell/Henry ", with the sound and the mix of Jean-Pierre Boyer and Fredéric Renaud. The 45t comes out at the beginning of the summer 1978.Pierre Thomas quits for Private Jokes and the band separates from Dargelos. Eric Morinière is the new drummer. The band is resumed to three members at the departure of Daniel Paboeuf: Frank Darcel, Philippe Pascal and Eric Morinière.Philippe Brunel is added to the band as a guitarist and Serge Papaïl statu is then bass player in Marquis de Sade during six months. Long enough, according to Philippe Pascal, to influence it. During this period, the band records a 4 titles demo (on which one finds "Die" which will be found on CD "Dantzig Twist", released on Barclay), then "Conrad Veidt" and "Who said why?" for a 45t which will not finally exist. Then, Serge Papaïl reforms Frakture and quits, replaced by Thierry Alexandre. Anzia supplements the formation, right before the signature on C.B.H. The first album, Dantzig Twist , is recorded in July at studio dB in Rennes.Daniel Paboeuf returns as of the recording of the album. Anzia, on the other hand, quits in October 79, before the national tour. He's replaced by Frederic Renaud. In June 80, a second single " Rhythmic/White Light - White Heat " is released, where Philippe Herpin appears with the saxophone. With Daniel, they will often play with Marquis de Sade in shows. They will be regarded besides as "permanent Guests". At the same time, Frederic Renaud will create Les Nus with Christian Dargelos. The second album, " Rue de Siam ", is recorded in 1980 in Paris and London. Split is not far. Indeed, the instrumentalists want to do something which would sounds like white funk, while the singer Philippe Pascal does not agree. The way in which the recording occurs is revealing besides: the band will record the music in Paris, without Philippe Pascal. While he will record the voices in London, without any other member of the band.In April, it is the last show, at "l'Espace", Rennes. Split. One time end.
