I'm a would-be writer living in the midwest. I don't know if this sets me amongst those trying to pass themselves off as somewhat normal or somewhere else.I'm finished with my first novel. That sets me far above most of the world and woefully below most every single person in my field of interest. Loaded combination, no?In said writing, I enjoy the fiction/fantasy gig quite a bit. This is primarily due to the fact that I abhor the idea of creativity being held down by innacuracies forced by the ambient world. By which i mean that if I or anyone else wants to tell a good story about Characters X and Y, there shouldn't -have- to be stumbling blocks if the writer can't rememer what the times are on the Chicago el. Now take that theory and apply it to an entire world and you see why I like fantasy settings. Unlimited creativity flows in them thar brains, my friends. That said, and unrelated to my writing, I love my city. She is my one recurring mistress.
