BRONX ZOO
I'd like to meet:
,
She tried to hide it by the faded denim clothes she wore.
But I knew she'd never been inside a bar before.
I felt just like a peasant, who just had met a queen
And she knew I saw right through her tight fittin' jeans.
I asked her what's a woman, like you doin' here?
I see you're used to champagne, but I'll buy you a beer.
She said you've got me figured out, but I'm not what I seem
And for a dance I'll tell you 'bout these tight fittin' jeans.
She said I married money, I'm used to wearin' pearls
But I've always dreamed of bein' just a good ol' boy's girl.
So tonight I left those crystal candle lights to live a dream,
And partner there's a tiger in these tight fittin' jeans.
We danced every dance, and Lord the beer that we went through.
I'm satisfied I did my best to make her dreams come true.
As she played out her fantasy before my eyes it seemed,
A cowgirl came alive inside those tight fittin' jeans.
In my mind she's still a lady, that's all I'm gonna say.
I knew that I'd been broken by the time we parted ways.
And I know I held more woman than most eyes have ever seen
That night I knew a lady wearin' tight fittin' jeans.
Well, now she's back in her world, and I'm still stuck in mine.
But I know I'll always remember the time.
A cowboy once had, a millionaire's dream.
And Lord I loved that lady wearin' tight fittin' jeans.
THANK YOU DARLIN AND THANK YOU CONWAY

Music:
WELL LETS SEE. I WAS FORTUNATE TO GROW UP THROUGH THE SIXTIES WAS A YOUNG LAD IN THE FIFTIES. I STARTED PERFORMING AT THE LOCAL SCHOOLS AND CANTEENS IN THE MID SIXTIES AND MOVED ON TO THE NIGHT CLUBS IN 1965. I WORKED WITH A BAND CALLED “THE SWEET NOTHINS NAMED AFTER BRENDA LEE’S #1 HIT. WE WORKED MAINLY IN THE NY AREA BUT DID GIG IN THE SKI RESORTS IN VERMONT AND UPSTATE NY. OUR ROOTS STARTED IN THE LOCAL CLUBS AROUND PEEKSKILL NY. WE WERE BOOKED FOR A WEEKEND IN GREENWOOD LAKE , WHICH IS HALF IN NY AND THE OTHER IN NJ. THAT WEEKEND TURNED INTO A YEAR AND A HALF GIG AS THE HOUSEBAND AT “THE LONG POND INN. DURING THAT TIME WE MET AND OPENED FOR MANY GREAT GROUPS. ALONG THE WAY WE OPENED FOR JOEY DEE AND THE STARLIGHTERS, PATTI LABELLE, JOHNNY THUNDER, FATS DOMINO, THE VAGRANTS (LESLIE WEST), THE RASCALS, AND MANY MORE, SOME THAT MADE THEIR FORTUNE AND SOME THAT DESERVED TOO BUT WERE NEVER DISCOVERED. WE TOURED THE NY NIGHT CLUBS. SOME OF THE NAMES I AM SURE SOME WILL REMEMBER. THE METROPOLE (NEAR TIME SQUARE) RECENTLY CLOSED ITS DOORS, THE PHONE BOOTH (WHERE THE TURTLES WERE DISCOVERED), THE ROLLING STONE ( ONE OF THE HOTTEST CLUBS IN NY AT THE TIME), THE GORDIAN KNOT, THE CHEETAH, TRUDY HELLERS, HARLOWS, THE EIGHTH WONDER, THE PURPLE ONION, AND MANY MORE THAT ESCAPES ME NOW. ALL IN ALL MANY GOOD MEMORIES WHICH I WOULDN’T TRADE FOR FORTUNE. THERE ARE SO MANY NICE PEOPLE IN THE BUSINESS AND SO MANY DEDICATED FANS THAT WOULD SHOW UP WHEREVER WE WENT. UNFORTUNATELY IT CAME TO AN END WHEN OUR MANAGER AT THE TIME REFUSED AN OFFER FROM MGM RECORDS. WE DIDN’T KNOW WHEN IT CAME DOWN BUT FOUND OUT LATER. WE FIRED THE MANAGER BUT BY THIS TIME OUR GROUP MEMBERS HAD STARTED TO LOOK AT OTHER WAYS TO MAKE THEIR LIVING. SHORTLY AFTER THE BAND DISPERSED AND I MOVED INTO THE CONSTRUCTION FIELD , WHERE I AM NOW. I HAVE NO REGRETS BUT DO MISS THE STAGE AND PERFORMING.I HAVE SINCE STARTED A VINYL COLLECTION AND HAVE TO DATE ALMOST 10,000 ALBUMS.
I LOVE TO LISTEN TO BEATLES, ELVIS, THE BYRDS, ROLLING STONES, ANIMALS, ZOMBIES, DAVE CLARK FIVE, RASCALS, DOORS, HENDRIXS, SANTANA, CLAPTON, ACDC, STEELY DAN, BOSTON, GRASSROOTS, TOMMY JAMES, SPRINGSTEEN, 38 SPECIAL, JOHN COUGER MELANCAMP. IDES OF MARCH, CHICAGO, LYNYARD SKNYARD, BON JOVI, AS I THINK THE LIST IS ENDLESS AND STILL GROWING. LOVE CONCERTS, LOVE TO JAM, SING IN MY PICK-UP,
I ALSO LOVE COUNTRY, SARA EVANS, TERRI CLARK, LORRIE MORGAN,MARTINA MCBRIDE, TRAVIS TRITT, ALLAN JACKSON, GEORGE STRAIT, WAYLON AND WILLIE, SAMMY KERSHAW, MERLE, CONWAY TWITTY, RANDY TRAVIS, CAROLYN DAWN JOHNSON, SUGARLAND AND THE LIST FOREVER ON. WHAT REALLY TURNS ME ON IS A CUTE COWGIRL THAT PUTS HER HEART AND SOUL IN HER MUSIC ANDPERFORMANCE AND ROCKS THE HOUSE. ALL OF THE FOREMENTIONED LADIES FILL THAT BILL.
I JUST LIKE ALL KINDS OF MUSIC AS YOU CAN SEE. "GIVE ME THE BEAT BOYS AND FREE MY SOUL I WANT TO GET LOST IN YOUR ROCK AND ROLL AND DRIFT AWAY". BEING IN A BAND I HAVE LEARNED TO APPRECIATE AND ENJOY ALL KINDS OF MUSIC. I CAN BE HAVIN' ONE OF THOSE CRAPPY DAYS AND THE RIGHT SONG COMES ON AND MY ATTITUDE TAKES A 180. AND I KNOW YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.TERRI CLARK
