About Me

My EQ is 60
50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese, unless you are Chinese, in which case, Chinose.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt-om.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin, that and the hypodermic needle from all the heroin you take.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar. What's Your EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient)?Hey, I live in Melbourne. You may know me as once being the drummer in The Cannanes, that band who were playing in that pub that has since been pulled down for that road widening, when you walked past on your way to see V Spy V Spy one night in 1987. In fact, I was in them for the first ten or so years of their 100-year existence (before they got good) and have also played drums and done some other things in the following top-notch r 'n' r (rest and recreation) outfits: Crabstick, Blairmailer, Driving Past (old album out on Jacana records), Huon (new album this or subsequent year), Fog and Ocean, Grey Tapes, Ashtray Boy. I also wrote a history of the Go-Betweens which is purchasable through Verse Chorus Press of Portland, Oregon. Plus I draw comics occasionally and work at my job even more occasionally.

My Interests

I was very interested in seeing John Howard not only deposed but punished for the repulsive things he has done to Australia in the last decade. Not just through the humiliation of being voted out. Our worst AND most evil Prime Minister. Now I am not sure what my interests are, though I am interested in finding out how to delete my myspace account, apparently an impossible task.

I'd like to meet:

the whole world thrice

Music:

The Red Krayola, We Ragazzi, Dave Graney/Clare Moore and related, Craven Fops, New Estate, Panel of Judges, Todd Rundgren, Troyka, Myrth, Pere Ubu and many and varied Australian acts from the 60s, 70s and beyond and the people who were a part of those scenes and what they're doing today, far too numerous to mention.

Movies:

Make Mine Mink, North By Northwest, The Lady Vanishes, films of: Bert Deling, Shirley Barrett, Nigel Buesst, John Duigan, Tom Cowan

Television:

Neighbours

Books:

Catherine McCarthy's unpublished novel
