About Me

I am your average geek, really. I like using computers, building computers, overclocking computers. I end up fixing the computers of everyone and their sister, really. I learned by breaking my Dad's office PC, then having to fix it before he got back! I have a PC, a Dreamcast and a Sega Saturn (modchipped). I mostly play RPGs and FPS games, with the occasional strategy or puzzle game mixed in. I like to think I'm "Old Skool" and "Hardcore" with my games, favouring the classic RPGs like Chrono Trigger to all this modern nonsense. Of course, this is a lie, because although I am "Hardcore" i like pretty much everything.I used to like Animé a lot (and still do), however lack of time means I have not been able to watch much recently. My favourite anime is Haibane Renmei, which is odd, because it has very little action in it, and yet somehow manages to be the most gripping series ever.I do not watch much telly, however what I do watch is normally quality stuff. I watch a fair amount of sci-fi, most notable being Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica (absolutely phenomenal, best series ever). I also watch a lot of comedy, normally only BBC 2 comedy, as it is by far and away the most intellectually stimulating. Recently i have completely binged on a few programmes. "Masterchef Goes Large" was the first, which I watched religiously for a week, and then sorta forgot about :( Also, I am a huge fan of Michael Palin, and so I have been downloading and watching all of his travel documentaries recently. "Ready Steady Cook" is my regular afternoon show, although "Deal or No Deal" has recently begun to fill that slot.As for music, I like a huge range of styles. This ranges from melodic death metal (Opeth), to classical, to foreign pop, to indie, to emo. Basically, I have no predefined style, although I do demand an excellent singer and effective harmonies in my music. Some of my favourite bands include Tool, Opeth, Dream Theatre, Porcupine Tree, Nightwish, Do As Infinity and Boa.That about it for me (although there is obviously a lot more that I haven't bothered to put down here). One final thing to note is that i am a natural cynic and pessimist, and always manage to find bad points in a good situation. But, I also find good points in a bad situation, so it sorta balances out. The glass is neither half full, nor half empty - rather it is twice the size it needs to be.
