Mindless Self Indulgence
Go here one time:
I like Romero, I really do. Eli Roth is right up there. I'll always be up for watching a horror movie. Drug movies are great too - Drugstore Cowboy, Requiem For A Dream, Spun. The Rules of Attraction is fantastic. Almodovar movies, awes. Chungking Express has recently become one of my favourites. Battle Royale, Dumb and Dumber, The Graduate, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Fear & Loathing, Mean Girls, When Harry Met Sally (love it love it love it).
Oh I love my soaps. America's Next Top Model. I'm still watching Lost hoping to see more of Boone in flashbacks. Heroes, it's shit. Ugly Betty is rubbish too, but I watch it. I adore Peep Show, it's my favourite now. UPDATE - JANUARY 2008: My new favourite is Flight of the Conchords. I love Jermaine.
Writers that I find consistently brilliant are Bukowski, Fante, Bret Easton Ellis, Sartre and Raymond Carver. I really like Delillo, Amy Hempel, Palahniuk, Fitzgerald, Murakami and some other guys too. Like, um, Kafka and Coupland, Dostoevsky, Baer, Craig Clevenger, Katherine Dunne (write more, please), DBC Pierre, Lionel Shriver, RYU Murakami (for cheap gore, really), this book called The F*ck-Up (the author's name elludes me), Lolitaaaaa. I emphasise again Bukowski Bukowski Bukowski and Fante Fante Fante. I'm lonely so I read lots. Put one book down and start the next almost straight up, 's long as I'm free. Recently I got into Gerard Woodward, who I'm really excited about meeting as my lecturer in Bath Spa this (next?) September.
Mr. Charles Bukowski for sure.
