Wytches

Come join with us in our rune tonight
And feel the circle spin
Let your spirit soar in the lunar light
As the Spiral Dance begins

Come with us speeding through the night
As fast as any bird in flight
Silhouettes against the Mother Moon
We will be there soon

When the spinning ceases you can dance no more
Kiss the silent earth
We will tell our children of the Ancient Lore
At the moment of their birth

Queen of the May

All across the barren land
Still cold from winter's hand
It has been a time for tears
Season of the Goddess return
On this eve, the first summer night
Out of the darkness and into the light
Set the Beltaine fires alight
Season of the Goddess return
Hail! Hail! the Queen of the May
Now is the season, now is the day
A time to laugh and a time to play
Hail! Hail! the Queen of the May
Through the time when the green leaves hide
The dream of summer has kept us alive
Through the darkness we have survived
Season of the Goddess return
Let the trees be green again
Let us all be free from pain
Out of the ice and into the flame
Season of the Goddess return!

I Took My Spirit Soaring
I took my spirit soaring today badly in need of repair
windows wide open wind blowing hair
smiling all the time from the inside out.
I sailed over the top and through mountain ridges
down amongst lush valleys sky as far
as the eye could see scent of pine filled the air.
Along side the creek adorned with cool breezes
hummingbirds hovering in mid air a blue butterfly filtered about
and the last of the cicadas sing on in the afternoon.
As I enter the forest trail a sign reads
"Healing in Progress - Please stay on the path"
and the irony of it all makes me smile even more.
The absolute quiet speaks volumes to me
with beautiful red rock towering all around me
I feel safe in the comfort of mother earth's womb.
The sun playing hide and seek with the clouds
penetrating rays shrouding distant mountains
in an enchanted veil of haze and closer still
as I stop along the way streaks of light from the setting sun
poke through thick clouds looking as a rolling blanket
passing over the gentle slopes.
I took my spirit soaring today fed my soul
listened to my heart and delighted my senses.
