The Epidemik is a band located in Bryn Mawr(Philadelphia Suburbs),Pennsylvania. The band consists of 4 members which are Burak Ozmucur(vocals, guitar), Levent Beken (bass), Greg Bogart(guitar) and Alex Chabot(drums).
The band started playing from scratch, learning how to play their instruments throughout group practices. They started out playing cover songs, and eventually came up with their first two original songs, Cold and Left Out. Though fans and friends thoroughly enjoyed the two songs, The Epidemik decided not to play or record them anymore, because of the general dissatisfaction in how they sound.
In February and April of 2005, The Epidemik performed at a Radnor High School concert, where all funds were given to the Tsunami Relief foundation. However, at those shows Greg Bogart was not part of the band yet so the band was only 3 people. During the summer of 2005, Greg Bogart joined to be the second guitarist. The band continued to write new songs throughout the year despite scheduling issues they had with practices. Even with all of these conflicts, the band did play the battle of the bands 2006 at Radnor with the newer songs that they prepared called Pushing the Limit(A.K.A. DADADA) and Waterfall Rainbow.
In May 2006 the band unofficially recorded their first CD called Dispersion Begins which contained the songs Intro, Order, D.K.O., It's All Mental, Waterfall Rainbow, The One, Fall of Me, Pushing the Limit, Relay for Death, and The Aftershock. The demo was rather rushed because it was for the band's graduation project.
After taking the summer off and starting college, the band hit the studio (garage) in November, and are currently working on 3 new songs. The band did not come up with offical names for the songs but the work names are called Blue Ball, Game Over, and Waterfall Sauna. In addition to these new songs, they plan to re-record Dispersion begins some day in order to be able to perfect, preserve, and display the songs, which will show the band at their full potential. Finding places to perform in the near future is also on The Epidemik's things-to-do list; they will see what they can do in order to perform at the Drexel battle of the bands, or perhaps nearby revenues around Philadelphia.
